The article states that the mother has the same last name as the father. This usually implies that they are married. I don’t know why she was described as the mother of the kids instead of as his wife. Perhaps it was because the story is about his protecting the kids from the shooter.
I’ve been on FreeRepublic a long time and remember the days when people read the article before commenting.
