We moved to GA a month ago. We are still unable to get GA retailers to accept our new address. Every GA retailer still claims we are at our old MA address and denies us our new address. This is driving us bat$hit. We have changed our Address with our credit card but no deal.
What? why would a retailer care what your address is?
Have you gotten GA driver’s licenses?
Sales taxes?
I see no other options here.
Move back to MA.
Or, you could buy the retailer.
Maybe it’s your accent......................
Will remind you to have your vehicle registration and licensing changed to Ga.
They will get you for that!
Sorry, I have no help for your question though. Puzzling.
Or even a light bill with your name at the address
the obvious question - did you put in a change of address with the Post Office? If you did, did you save the confirmation postcard that they send asking if it was you that changed the address? If you didn’t save the postcard, put the change of addy in again so you get a new postcard. That postcard should work as proof of address. As will any utility bill.
You need to change your location flag on your FreeRepublic homepage. It still shows MA.
;)
I assume/guess when you use a credit card it asks for you to enter your zip code. So, I bet entering your old zip works. If that is the case it is a banking issue not the retailer. I have two addresses and always have to remember which address is associated with which piece of plastic.
I see the problem, they think you’re a Masshole and want nothing to do with you. Wear a MAGA hat and then they’ll accept you.
Which retailers? And for what purpose?

If you’ve officially changed the address of mail delivery to your new Georgia address, and bills come to you at that address, that should be sufficient verification of your legal address. Utility companies usually want to see a bill addressed to you at the residence you want service started at.
Moved to Georgia 8 years ago and had zero problems. We bought a house and closed on it within two weeks of moving there. Set up utilities and got a GA drivers license and registered to vote.
