There are no locks in sports betting. Always remember that.

Even when the team you’re betting on has a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, they can still blow it. And that’s how we come to one of the worst beats you’ll ever hear about.

With seven minutes left on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons led the Dallas Cowboys 39-24. Their odds on the in-game line was -3333. Someone bet $35,000 to win $1,050 on the Falcons’ moneyline, according to BetMGM.

Oh, no.

Too bad he didn’t have the ability to send out Vito and Tony to sever a powerline so the main lights in the stadium go dark.

Bet $35K to win $1000? I wonder whose money it was.

Chronic gamblers are nuts. They are worse than drug addicts. Drug addicts usually off themselves in a few years. It’s sad, but at least the agony for the family is over. But gamblers go on for decades, ruining the lives about them. I’ve known several. I’d sooner try to be friends with a scorpion.

Betting 10 or 20 bucks won’t break anyone.

It’s not Zero or a Million!!

What a DUMB bet this one was though!

That’s a touchdown and a fumble/recovery on kickoff. Far from impossible.

Just wow.

Im too lazy to open up the article. 35k is a LOT to most folks..to some not so much

This is why losing money in stocks doesn’t hurt as much as gambling on sports - you see the Falcons special-teams guys flapping their arms like chickens and not covering the ball on that on-side kick and you know exactly who to blame. You see the value of your stock go down because some anonymous MBAs screwed up just as much as the Falcons did, and who knows who’s responsible?

As I said on the other thread, the Falcoln players on that onsides kick epitomizes the other reason the NFL is unwatchable, stupid players.

Look at the last three seconds of the Hawks against the Patriots when on the goal line the Patriots QB couldn’t bust through the Hawks defense; if they’d have scored, they would have won.

Well at least this team Cam didn’t fumble and run away from the ball, so that’s progress.

actually, i think the suicide rate for chronic gamblers is even higher than drug addicts because kicking gambling for a lifetime is much more difficult than kicking drug addiction ...

Tell that to the people who invested in Theranos, or Enron!

I got a good tip one time on betting on the horses. I was told to allocate a certain reasonable affordable amount of money for the day and consider it an entertainment expense. Once that money (and any winnings along the way) is gone, your day is done. If you get to the end of the racing day and you have money left, it’s like found money.
