Sir Connery is definitely number 1 after that they became too comedic with Roger Moore. Peirce Brosnan tried to get it back on track but, I love Daniel Craig’s working class bad-ass version in the recent series

One thing I hated about that movie was the line that Connerys character delivered disparaging the Americans shooting as wild and indiscriminate when Americans were typically better marksmen than the British as far back as the revolution. It was such an obvious jab at the US.

he had a small part in “the longest day” as well.

Years ago I asked my elderly 80 year old Japanese Kyudo Sensei who his favorite movie stars were.
His enthusiastic reply:
” Jamuz Bondo, Krintu Eastuwood”
Connery has even made a mark even with pre-WWII generations of Japanese people.

Hes 90 years old. He knows his time left on this Earth is short. He wants to enjoy it without being hassled.Doing it the right way, enjoying golf, relaxation and family. Someone who achieved the pinnacle of success in his profession knows when to hang it up and enjoy. I wish politicians would do that and other actors and musicians. I think the difference is that he is happy, and they are full of hate.

I grew up in the age of Sean Connery as James Bond. I remember blowing my allowance on a die cast model of the Bond Aston Martin. Star Wars has nothing on the Bond merchandise.

"Great movie. Michael Caine was great in that one too..." And so was Christopher Plummer (as Kipling). One of my favorite scenes is when Daniel (Connery) and Peachy (Caine) are in Kipling's office declaring their intent to become kings. They have drawn up a contract committing to each other and need Kipling as a witness. Peachy pulls the document out and begins reading it in his heavy Cockney accent, "This contrack b'tween me and you..."
After reading the full contract the men share a drink and lay the document on the table to be signed.
One time I was watching the movie and paused it at this point to go grab a snack. When I came back, I noticed the contract was written just as Caine had read it: "This Contrak..."
Clever little touch I thought. You can see it at 3:45 in this video.
