Economist Steve Moore says that people are migrating out of states like New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Michigan, and into other states like Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, South Carolina and Florida.
"People are voting with their feet against the policies of blue state America," he said during an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast
Moore, the author of the book "Trumponomics," noted the U.S. economy's strong performance prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and said he believes that president Trump will secure reelection. He said that when voters cast their ballots, "it's not gonna be a popularity contest, it will be, 'Who do I really think can rebuild this economy?'"
Moore ranked the economic lockdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic as among the top "three or four mistakes in the history of our country."
"I think it could be, you know, years before we get back to where we were because we lost so many millions of businesses," he predicted. He also said that he has been "surprised" by the speed the economy has rebounded to the extent that it has thus far: "We've created 9.3 million jobs in the last three months, that's a lot," he said.
"I really regard China as Japan circa 1939. I really think that's how dangerous they are in terms of their aggressive military behavior and also, you know, their predatory economic practices which we can't put up with any longer," he said.
"I do believe in free trade but it's hard to be involved in free trade when you have a country that is trying to bury you," he explained.

Voting with their feet? They voted these people in.
Stay away. Dont need a spread.
Yes indeedy, the expansion of Federal facilities and ancillary private sector with population explosion in Northern Virginia being the most graphic example.
“”They are fleeing THE north, yes.””
Right. I was ready to read about more illegals coming north!
“”Federal facilities””
Not a good indicator for the remainder of the country. Federal = VA.....
somebody prolly already had imp-45
I have a sneaking hunch that this was one of the goals developed by the Dems as they gathered together to think how they would not let the Covid crisis go to waste. Get Dem voters to move into Red states to shade those states Purple.
They have moved to Maine too!
2.375% for a 10 year mortgage; 2.5% for a 15 year mortgage at Gate City Bank in Fargo, ND. My adjustable rate will change from 4.125% to 2.375% next month.
My parents financed their house in Fargo in about 1946 for about 3%.
Yes, mortgage rates are very low but unfortunately, so are interest rates for insured saving accounts.
Real Estate is the key..My parents bought a cheap house,Apple moved in and suddenly it wasn’t...Their cheap house is now worth a million dollars and it is still the crappy little house built in 1950’s...Buuuuut,GOOGLE moved in as a sub station near my parents old house..The street is now millionaires row....
Why didn’t you trash the piece of of shits car and leave him a welcome message?
...houses are being bought sight unseen for asked price by escapees from our urban paradises

Ran into that since April in both the area we left and the one we are in now.
Funny thing was that they would actually make multiple offers and sacrifice the escrow if they found something better. Properties were contingent for 2-5 days, then for sale again.
Others were “real beauties” and would start haggling for things like all completely new appliances (brands specified) and then, withdraw the offer after the sellers had complied. Many lawsuits ensued, from what we heard. That incident was people from NYC. They had looked at our property, but thankfully, not made an offer.
We lucked out and our buyers were great people, but the contempt from many, especially the millennials, was palpable.
They’re voting with their feet against a couple of passing blue state policies, but they’ll vote for most of the worst anti-American policies while living in their destinations.
With their regimes of regulations and bribery, they’ll have your grandchildren driven from their homes and into the streets.
...continue to vote blue in their new homes, thereby ruining previously red areas of the country. Liberals are incapable of learning.
________
I can offer this: in our Congressional primary, there was a Blue ringer in the GOP race. She lost handily once her history was made public.
Huge District trying to oust a DNC water-carrier who’s been there for 30 years. For once, we have a mature contender who is a fighter and he is getting help from the RNC.
Maybe those states should put billboard signs along I-95 warning of heat, humidity, alligators, big icky bugs, etc.
That may force them to second guess about moving to the South and head further North to Canada.
I have watched it happen to Virginia.
I saw the problem as it happened in CO. Most of the incoming commies would claim to be conservative, just as most public school teachers do when speaking to a conservative individual. Most of them received their incomes from government, government contractors or businesses connected too closely to government.
They “gentrified” very crookedly and with many socialist regulations that funneled much more money into local governments. They built rackets and bribed public officials. They drove the conservatives out of the private sector and out of the state.
They’ll do it in your conservative state and community, too. Don’t let them in. Most of them aren’t even American in culture. Many of them are only two, three or four generations removed from very corrupt foreign countries in Europe.
I said in my post #45, I understood WHY VA - that makes sense with its proximity to DC...
Oh, they're coming North, too.
I'm up in backwoods as heck Maine, and properties with acreage, water, etc located out in the sticks are selling about like guns and ammo are nationwide.
Unfortunately, they ARE bringing their politics with them.
So drive them away while you are still in the majority.
