Residents fleeing North are voting against 'policies of blue state America,' economist says

Economist Steve Moore says that people are migrating out of states like New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Michigan, and into other states like Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, South Carolina and Florida.

"People are voting with their feet against the policies of blue state America," he said during an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast

Moore, the author of the book "Trumponomics," noted the U.S. economy's strong performance prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and said he believes that president Trump will secure reelection. He said that when voters cast their ballots, "it's not gonna be a popularity contest, it will be, 'Who do I really think can rebuild this economy?'"

Moore ranked the economic lockdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic as among the top "three or four mistakes in the history of our country."

"I think it could be, you know, years before we get back to where we were because we lost so many millions of businesses," he predicted. He also said that he has been "surprised" by the speed the economy has rebounded to the extent that it has thus far: "We've created 9.3 million jobs in the last three months, that's a lot," he said.

"I really regard China as Japan circa 1939. I really think that's how dangerous they are in terms of their aggressive military behavior and also, you know, their predatory economic practices which we can't put up with any longer," he said.

"I do believe in free trade but it's hard to be involved in free trade when you have a country that is trying to bury you," he explained.

I’m trapped behind the same lines, but I am probably one of those who would like to escape someday. I don’t see a way to ever turn the place red. Look who our senators are! Mr. Frosty and Crockajawea.

I do wonder if there isn’t a business or activist opportunity here. A group that would actively seek to help conservatives move from blue states to red states. Not just the real estate part, but also help with job prospects, tax profiles, and other considerations like schools, medical and the like. It might also go a long way in keeping red states red.

The left does this, but through colleges. They recruit professors and students to their blue states and many of them stay. Liawatha did. Oklahoma to Massholechusetts.

He’s probably went to the DMV and found IMP 45 (impeach 45) was taken and he went outside to the curb sobbing. Someone came by and compassionately suggested adding a P.

“Residents fleeing North...”

NO, they are fleeing south and west.

They are fleeing THE north, yes.

Not gonna happen. Migration destroyed the south years ago. AC and bug spray helped to finish it off.

Voting against blue state policies or bringing them to their new locations?

Like many foreign relocators, they flee their old habitat and then spend the rest of their lives in their new habitat trying to reshape it into the s*ithole they left.

Blue cities in red states do not just happen — the old cities are transformed.

I often don’t get license plate memes but the ‘Massachusetts’ at the top got me thinking in that frame of mind:)

They move and vote for the democrats..there will only be four red states in tens years..unless these democrats who move see the light..

Correct. The whole article in one sentence. But I hope Moore (a good guy as I recall) is right. A little polling data to test his view and your reasonable fear would be nice.

"People are voting with their feet against the policies of blue state America,"

They will, however, continue to vote blue in their new homes, thereby ruining previously red areas of the country. Liberals are incapable of learning.

I clicked to see how long it would be before the old canard of “voting for the same things that made them leave their state” came up. I didn’t have to wait. How on earth does anyone know or how can they tell how new residents vote? It’s such a ridiculous and tiresome statement to make.

New residents change a RED state to BLUE????? Really!!!

“”Binghamton””

That doesn’t even make sense unless it’s other than Binghamton, NY.. No one in their right mind would move to NY State; especially not a conservative...It was my home state and one not even considered for retirement.
