A federal appeals court in New Orleans upheld the constitutionality of the all-male military draft system Thursday, citing a 1981 U.S. Supreme Court decision.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans said “only the Supreme Court may revise its precedent.”
The case was argued in March and was the result of a lawsuit by the National Coalition for Men and two men challenging the male-only draft. Their arguments had been that the the 1981 case was decided at a time when women were largely absent from combat.
There was no dissent in Thursday’s ruling from a three-judge panel. Plaintiffs in the case could seek a rehearing before the full court or go to the Supreme Court.

You can keep your head down and keep on trucking, but millions of men are looking around at all these contradictions and simply checking out. The so-called “mgtow” movement is exploding. Millions more men are checking out from society, checking out from raising families, checking out from being men. That’s a real cause for concern and it will get worse unless society takes a step back from lunacy and reaffirms normal gender roles. I’m not suggesting that women should lose the vote or being kicked out of the workplace, but we’re at the point where it’s considered sexist to state that men are generally physically stronger than women. Hell, saying that men should man up and protect women is considered sexist. Accepting such contradictory rulings as the one that is the subject of this article, just shrugging your shoulders and living with it, isn’t going to solve the problem.
This ruling was necessary for the case to be re-presented to SCOTUS.
Personally, I have no problem with women registering for the draft. They won’t necessarily be drafted, but they should be registered.
Women are always screaming about equality, so registering for the draft is equality.
There are many, many positions in the military that are not front line combat related that can be performed by women, freeing up a man for the combat duty.
In an all-volunteer military, women now make up 20 percent of the Air Force, 19 percent of the Navy, 15 percent of the Army and almost 9 percent of the Marine Corps. Clearly if there ever is a draft, there are jobs for them to perform.
An immigrant serving in the armed forces has the option to easily become a citizen. So there’s that.

Looking at the Millennial generation show me the men who are chivalrous and show me the women that are deserving of that treatment? It’s a very small pool of men and women from my vantage point. Once the Gex Xers are the old geezers in 20 years nobody will even understand your comment as society will have not seen chivalry and God defined roles in their lifetimes.

How so? You just said the USSC are the oracles of law, so since they backed abortion as being legal then either they are ungodly and therefore the law is or you are wrong that abortion is ungodly. Which is it?
Maybe, but all we can do is be the best example we can be. We aren’t responsible for the bad acts of others, just ourselves, in hopes others will follow that example.

We have a unisex draft in Israel. It works well.
90% of the military is logistics or support of some kind.
And if it got so bad we our logistics people are fighting, then I’ll take anyone I can get.
