Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation.
Q describes this awakening as follows:

"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.

Here is how it worked in Nashville in the 1980's. Two banks went belly up (for whatever reason.) After a short lockup, Monday morning the doors of the banks opened up and a desk was placed just inside. A line formed of depositors. As each stepped up their account was examined and they were assured their money was safe.
Mr. Smxth (it would go)... we see that you have $8,000 dollars deposited; that is guaranteed. Now we see that you have a home mortgage for $25,000; you still owe us $17,000.
That sort of thing; and after all, you can't expect a broke system to give $8,000 to someone who owes it $25,000... not logical. Too many people carry a lot of debt.

Perhaps having Biden pick Buttigieg is the ‘event’ the dems will use to get rid of Biden (i.e. outrage over him not picking a black or a woman). Trying to figure out the left’s logic is a dubious. They’ve done so many things before that seem self defeating. But maybe this is the angle they’ll use. To admit that your candidate has dementia is a bad PR move. Getting rid of him because he’s not progressive enough, not so much (at least to the left and the mushy middle). Perhaps they’re calculating that the combination of the two (i.e. Biden’s dementia and bad VP pick) is the way to go. Relying on only one of those reasons would be politically damaging, but the two together not as much.
All speculation at this point. We don’t even know if Buttigieg is going to get picked.

I am not sure what you are referring to as 'three stage'. Herd immunity appears on a graph as a classic bell curve; look at a graph of Sweden's infection rate - who took no precautionary action - for March to June. By June the incidence is statistically nil. States here that opened up in June are about three months behind Sweden.
We see this every year with the seasonal flu. Vaccinations may influence the overall numbers but not the shape of the bell curve. Eventually everyone will be exposed to the coronavirus; as long as there is not massive lockdowns that is inevitable. By fear govt autocrats can impose indefinite lockdowns thus destroying the U.S. economy and seducing the population in to socialism.
