A protest in Portland’s east side escalated early Saturday morning after an hours-long standoff between demonstrators and police.
Officers used stun grenades, pepper spray, impact munitions and physical force to push a crowd of 300 protesters away from a police building on East Burnside Street. Police detained multiple people as they advanced through residential streets.
The response by police followed a barrage of eggs thrown by protesters at officers. Police had declared the gathering unlawful more than three hours earlier and repeatedly warned people to leave. Early in the night, police arrested a photojournalist and accused him of trespass.
Portland police later said officials ultimately decided to break up the crowd after people threw rocks and “explosive devices” at officers, something two Oregonian/OregonLive journalists did not see while they observed interactions between protesters and police. A loud firework did explode near a building shortly before officers advanced.

Why does Portland seem to be the epitome center to all this crap ?

I read the whole article. It was pretty pro-protester/rioter. I think the Oregonian is a liberal paper.
That moron Ted Wheeler was saying that the fault was the Federal officers there, when, in fact, there were riots before and after the feds.
Lots of good photos at the site, with this piece of “journalistic prose” over and over:

Because of a large majority of college educated white liberal progressives who are vocal in their rejection of traditional values and American culture. Moms walk with their toddlers in gay pride parades in Portland. Non-conformity and alternate lifestyle of any kind is not only encouraged but exalted. Portland is more liberal than most other big cities in that respect.
It is so sad that officials are allowing this destruction of our country. Will the people who vote in these areas pull the same levers next time?
There’s no reason for the rioters to stop. Even if arrested, they are quickly released. Arrest is a badge of glory for the rioters.

The people we are speaking of do not know right from wrong. And to the extent they do, they run to do wrong.
They are evil.

We can’t just speak of these people as rioters. Some may be, but there is an organization behind all of this with paid professionals and lots of resources.
This organization may not even be headquartered in Portland, or even the United States. It needs to be taken down.
They are directed terrorists.

Theres a lot journalists dont see. Such as the scandals of the obama administration, the corruption of the clintons, etc.
