A total of 51,512 cards were printed for $9.99 each, and the cards sold out in 24 hours, setting a record for the company.
“That is a combination of humbling and really embarrassing,” Fauci, said about the sales record during ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday.
Now, hundreds of people are already reselling individual Fauci cards on eBay. The bids currently start as low as $1.99, but some sellers have set “buy now” prices as high as $9,995.00, hoping people will pay top-dollar or provide a counter-offer.
Of course, that doesn’t mean people will buy at that price. And many more sellers have the cards available to purchase immediately for $150 to $500.
Kenny Goldin, founder and CEO of Goldin Auctions, estimates that a single Fauci card is likely worth around $125 to $145.

Yeah people on Ebay usually believe they have something valuable. Like all speculations, the few bought up the stock. Hopefully many will realize little if any real profit from their speculation. Only a fool with too much moneyis going to buy at those inflated prices.

Are you kidding me, I wouldn’t give a nickle for it..
“Sold out” is a bit of a misnomer: Topps only took orders for 24 hours, 51,512 people wanted them, and all of them will get it.
The stupid thing (well, one of the stupid things) is that card rarity and demand determine price, and this has been the single-largest run of any “limited time only” cards that Topps has sold.
Ergo: it’s not rare and those who wanted it already have it. There is therefore little to no market for this card, anecdotal exceptions aside.

A couple sold for a $1000, some $600, $400, $300, $250, a lot in the $200 range but did they actually pay? Probably not all, but at least half of them. And higher than the auctioneer’s estimate. Fauci got screwed.
It’s a better investment than buying the bat that Pete Rose used to break Ty Cobb’s record - all 750 of them.
How much would a Lois Lerner baseball card be worth?
Because they think he’ll be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame one day. And the price will SOAR.
