Roddy Piper was pretty good in that film

I saw John Caprenter interviewed about that movie and he said Piper really wanted to wear shades so he'd look cool in the movie so they added that part about magic sunglasses that could see the aliens. I'm not sure if he said that was Piper's idea, but I think he did. Anyway, it was a good addition, which Carpenter acknowledged.

Saw that 20 years ago and have been looking for a pair of those shades ever since. Couldn’t find any. Does Amazon sell them?

If your looking for another John Carpenter cult classic check out the original 1976 “Assault in precinct 13”. A lot of people aren’t aware the 2005 movie is a remake.

The Napoleon Wilson character is one cool dude.

Roddy Piper was pretty good in that film - when he first puts on the sunglasses and sees what the aliens look like, I believe the term “fertilizer face” was used.

I remember seeing this as a kid in the 80's as I was a huge pro wrestling fan. The movie was surprisingly good for what it was, and Roddy Piper actually played the role pretty well.

I think the term you are referencing was "formaldehyde face".

I just found out what is old news to the rest of you.
A. Roddy Piper in this movie was aka Rowdy-Roddy Piper the wrestler.
B. Roddy passed away July of 2015.
Somehow, I didn’t know that. He was a lot of fun in the wrestling ring. A natural Ham Actor and comic.

Different folks may look at it in different ways, but I enjoyed that movie & it raised Roddy to a new level as an actor in my mind. Heck of a plot; very well could have been a documentary tho I didn’t realize it at the time.
