I just heard today that the craven cop in the Stoneman Douglas shooting just won in court and got his job back (with back pay, mind you) b/c the police did not follow proper procedure in terminating him.
In the case of the cops in the Floyd case I predict something similar will happen. And if it is the merits of the case, they might all say they were following their understanding of SOP.
This will PROBABLY go the cops’ way.
As for criminal case, it is really weak as the cop was restraining Floyd who has just fought off 4 cops and put himself in a position where that was the only way to safely hold him.
I NEVER want to base a court case on the effects it will have on the country and I WONT.
But if anything less than 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years in prison for all the cops happens, be armed and maybe get a vest.
That cop is going to prison. If he beats the state charges, hell be convicted on some federal charge (probably a civil rights violation).
The Feds werent particularly interested in charging George Zimmerman after his acquittal. But given the current climate, they will be very interested in charging Officer Chauvin.
The same sort of thing happened in the Rodney King case.
Baltimores Freddie Grey copy declined to be tried by juries.
All three were acquitted.

I wager that Ellison, the vaunted Prosecutor, has overcharged the cases and will not be able to get beyond reasonable doubt, thus assuring a Not Guilty verdict, thus assuring more riots and chaos. This is the desired goal, rather than conviction.
If the verdict is Guilty, it’ll be over, no muss, no fuss. How boring would that be? It would not further the Cause and the Cause is priority #1.
They are clearly overcharged. And 3 cops standing around are not chargeable.
Then we’ll have more riots, pillage and plunder.
The democrat controlled media delberately miss portrayed Floyd as an innocent black who was being forceably restrained because he was black. He was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 dollar bill .When actually he was resisting arrest and was a threat if not secured by not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control Check out

The results of politically induced miss reporting used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial. Led to black gangs attacking non blacks found innocently traversing black neighborhoods and to a score of murders or life changing injuries and later attacks of theft and vandalism on local businesses as well as attacks and murders of police officers during that period
Are they ever?
It may have been if they hadn’t over charged due to political pressure.
The other three officers will demand to get separate trials, at least from Chauvin. Assuming they succeed, they can point out that prior to the arrival of Chauvin, nothing they did was remotely abusive or likely to harm Floyd. Chauvin arrived and took over the scene. He had 17 years of experience, and the other officers can claim they were required to defer to him. If MPD policy supports giving the senior officer “command” at the scene, that will be a big element of blaming Chauvin. One cop even tried to get Chauvin to turn Floyd on his side. Chauvin indicated everything was in effect ok. The other three blame Chauvin and deeply regret that things worked out so badly. Physically attacking Chauvin did not seem like an option; wish we had. Etc.
Another point the defense might raise, is how does a person who can’t breathe say “I can’t breathe” 16 times?
The asphyxia that the “outside” ME claims caused Floyd’s death involved the pressure on Floyd’s neck, which they say constricted his carotid arteries, thus starving his brain of oxygen. If that is the case, would Floyd have felt like he could not breathe (as in, could not get air into his lungs)? And why was Floyd complaining about breathing problems before Chauvin put his knee of Floyd’s neck?
A true hero would be the cop watching this unfold physically remove the other cops but I guess there is “code”. Part of me thinks they heard BS from suspects all the time and had no idea this guy would simply die. Only they know and we deserve to hear their testimony and I think we will be shocked or simply see it as typical. The whole incident stinks in so many ways. NONE of this warranted the riots,BS activism and fake outrage.
All I know is, they do not want to try a Saddam moment and try to grab my President out of the WH. It will be a HERE WE COME moment like the world has never seen.
Based on the information I’ve seen 2nd degree murder is a stretch. Chauvin likely skates when this finally comes to trial many months from now. They should have stuck with manslaughter.
