I just heard today that the craven cop in the Stoneman Douglas shooting just won in court and got his job back (with back pay, mind you) b/c the police did not follow proper procedure in terminating him.

In the case of the cops in the Floyd case I predict something similar will happen. And if it is the merits of the case, they might all say they were following their understanding of SOP.

This will PROBABLY go the cops’ way.

As for criminal case, it is really weak as the cop was restraining Floyd who has just fought off 4 cops and put himself in a position where that was the only way to safely hold him.

I NEVER want to base a court case on the effects it will have on the country and I WONT.

But if anything less than 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years in prison for all the cops happens, be armed and maybe get a vest.

With the worldwide coverage of the Saint George episode these four cops will need to stay hidden in a bunker for the rest of their lives.

No way can they get a fair trial anywhere.

No way they will ever work in law enforcement again unless they have some kind of death wish.

That cop is going to prison. If he beats the state charges, he’ll be convicted on some federal charge (probably a civil rights violation).

The Feds weren’t particularly interested in charging George Zimmerman after his acquittal. But given the current climate, they will be very interested in charging Officer Chauvin.

The same sort of thing happened in the Rodney King case.

Baltimore’s Freddie Grey copy declined to be tried by juries.
All three were acquitted.

It will take a year or two for this to go to trial, if at all.

By then the thugs will have come up with a new reason to burn down the town.

Remember it’s an election year. Chaos must happen now.

After November they won’t care.

This is all politics based law. A certain demographic is up in arms because of various events, (Which have been deliberately distorted by people trying to get them up in arms) and the authorities want to pacify them and neither the authorities or the demographic really cares about actual justice or objectivity.

And yes, the Feds will pull their usual "double jeopardy" crap on these guys when they beat the state charges.

I think there is much truth in this observation.

I wager that Ellison, the vaunted Prosecutor, has overcharged the cases and will not be able to get beyond reasonable doubt, thus assuring a Not Guilty verdict, thus assuring more riots and chaos. This is the desired goal, rather than conviction.

If the verdict is Guilty, it’ll be over, no muss, no fuss. How boring would that be? It would not further the Cause and the Cause is priority #1.

As long as Keith Ellison is the AG in Michigan, this case won’t go the cop’s way. He’ll make sure of it.

Welcome to Free Republic. Love your nick name.

I agree with your concerns they are over charged. I just posted this link. The defense team has some valid arguments in favor of acquittal.

They are clearly overcharged. And 3 cops standing around are not chargeable.

Then we’ll have more riots, pillage and plunder.

He is AG of Minnesota. Michigan has a dyke named Dana Nessel. Her and her moron boss Heir WHitmer just got a 7-0 decision Michigan Supreme Court decision handed against them in the case of the 77 year old barber they were harassing for opening up.

The democrat controlled media delberately miss portrayed Floyd as an innocent black who was being forceably restrained because he was black. He was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 dollar bill .When actually he was resisting arrest and was a threat if not secured by not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control Check out

The results of politically induced miss reporting used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial. Led to black gangs attacking non blacks found innocently traversing black neighborhoods and to a score of murders or life changing injuries and later attacks of theft and vandalism on local businesses as well as attacks and murders of police officers during that period
