Don't give anyone calling you your social security number.
A call today from TX (806.642.4518), stated I had been in some kind of crime and to call them (at the SSA).
So I did. And had fun with "Mark" and "Peggy."
I crack me up.

I had a scam call once about getting a rebate on my electric bill because I was overcharged. I talked to “Kevin Smith,” except “Kevin” sounded like Apu from the Simpsons.
Be careful messing with scammers. People have been swatted and even killed. If they have ANY of your personal information just hang up and walk away.
If you want to mess with scammers check out 419eater.com and do it the right way.
I do not even answere numbers that i cannot identify. And than i block those numbers! It’s fun.
Bttt.

You made a mistake calling them.
Hi.
I appreciate your advice and concern.
I now have their physical address.

Correct.
I once dared a scammer who vaguely threatened me with arrest to come and get me. “I’m at home right now. Do you know where I live?”
He did. He rattled off my address.
As others have said..... Do not even answer a call you don’t know. And if you do - hang up immediately when you realize it’s a scammer.
Same. If it’s real they’ll leave a message. If no message gets left, you know it was a scam.
Caller ID...I never pick up the phone showing a number I don’t know. Peace of mind that way...
I now have their physical address.

You think so? Since they spoof caller ID, they are also likely to spoof a physical address.
Leave this alone.
I’m elderly (LOL) so I get two or three calls a week now from Mark or Peggy, etc, from ‘Medicare.’ Click. bzzzzz.
And the next day Microsoft calls to let me know my windows license has expired. Click. bzzzzz.
Yes, it really is fun to block them;*) maybe i should get out more.
Why is this in breaking news?
But the world has gotten a lot crazier. I had a guy go road rage on my because he thought I cut him off or something. So he followed me for miles honking his horn and shaking his fist. Finally I had to pull into a police station for him to go away.
People are crazy!
Well, they’ve started to call from mobile phones. It just says “Mobile Phone.” I can’t block the number.
I used to get calls and a female computer voice told me that Microsoft was “ordered closed” and I should call right away to get a refund for my Windows operating system.
Except I have always had Apple computers.
Yeah, Microsoft was closed down and yet they were still trading on the stock exchange. LOL.
I enjoy playing with the folks that insist my computer is full of viruses and they will help me fix the problem. I keep them on the line as long as possible. My record is 43 minutes. The lady was totally exasperated when the call ended.
Sunday a week ago, one of my dogs was bitten by a snake and my wife and I took him to the vet. That night we were driving to pick her up, some fool roars up behind me tailgating with his bright lights on, hangs there 10 seconds or so then pulls intp my blind spot and hangs there about 30 secs.
He then passes me, cuts in front of me with about a foot to spare and hits his brakes. If I hadn’t already been slowing down, I’d be dead. I pull to the right lane and try to pass him. He pulls over and blocks me. Fortunately, I saw an intersection and pulled off.
I don’t know what his problem was; I didn’t cut him off; traffic was light, we easily passed me, so I wasn’t slowing him down any. Lot of crazy people out there
