Corona Virus Daily Thread #51 COVID-19 5/07/2020
there is test now that can be sent to your home if teledoc orders it
i think it is insane to go around others and health care workers to be tested unless you are pretty darn sure you have it
Willy Wonka said:
Have a friend that just got diagnosed. He said that Sunday-Tuesday were pretty rough but feels like he’s on the back side of it.
He talked to a CDC doctor that prescribed a steroid, Celebrex, and Ivermectin. That sound right?
Someone came out yesterday and gave his whole family an IV:
Fluids
Vitamin C
Tiraspol
Glutathione
Zinc
Magnesium
B12 Mentholated
B Complex
He got sick while at a remote lake house in Louisiana and his doctor was concerned that he was still there. He went to a clinic in Louisiana. He did a video call over a few days with family doctor. The doctor called the clinic and the clinic said that he had the worst symptoms they had seen. He finally convinced them to come home.
Dr was concerned what kind of shape my friend would be in when he finally got home so He got with the CDC to discuss his treatment to keep him out of the hospital and then the treatment for when he got home.

Coronavirus Update 5/8/2020 - BTHO COVID-19
So today at the time of this writing there are 28,228 new cases today with 2,129 deaths. Cases are relatively steady today but maybe trending down. But deaths are bouncing around every few days. Today the mortality rate is up from 9.93 to 7.54%. We also have 16,995 in critical condition still high so the fatality numbers will likely stay high a while longer. So the overall mortality rate rose a little to 5.95%.
We also have now had 217,250 people recovered from this virus and should now be considered immune from this horrific disease.
Locally, in Texas we are still plateaued and we are waiting for the downside of the curve. We had 1,155 new cases and 26 new deaths with a steady mortality rate of 2.7%.
Because antibody testing is being added to the numbers we are monitoring active cases. So we have 20,186 up from 19,426 active cases in Texas. The number of active cases was relatively flat for a while but now slowly climbing each day over the past week. In addition we have 18,707 recovered now. Yes we are trending up but not at any accelerated rate at this time. We are still many times under both the number of hospital beds and ICU beds needed.
Today in Dallas county 251 new cases and 2 new deaths. Harris county with 133 new cases and 2 new deaths. Collin county with 11 new cases and 0 new deaths. Denton county with 14 new cases and no new deaths. Tarrant county with 143 new cases and 2 new deaths. Brazos county with 13 new cases and one new death. Travis county with 56 new cases and 0 new deaths. Fort Bend county with 42 new cases and 2 new deaths. Also Bexar county with 84 new cases and 5 new deaths.
For the newbies we are predicting an overall fatality rate somewhere in the 0.3 to 0.7 range when we finally correct the denominator. The real question is just how much of the population is already infected 2%, 5%, 10% etc.
Ivermectin
A recent study using Ivermectin 150 mcg/kg given in a single dose was used for treatment in hospitalized patients. There were 704 in the treatment group and 704 in the placebo group across 169 hospitals. This showed that use of Ivermectin resulted in shorter days and decreased overall mortality. More studies are needed but this along with the study showing it inhibiting viral replication in the lab is very promising. Hopefully we can get some outpatient studies as well as this and hydroxychloroquine look like promising outpatient treatments.
To mask or not to mask that is the question?
Lots of questions regarding the use of masks. We have addressed this before but CDC keeps making this more confusing for the general public. So let’s start with regular surgical or homemade masks. Do they protect you if you are wearing one? No they do not but they do protect others.
Someone recently asked me but doctors wear them in surgery? Yes to protect the patient from an infection not to protect us. So why are they requiring them? Because there are potentially a lot of asymptomatic carriers and this will help decrease the spread and lower the R nought.
So how do I protect myself? Well if you are worried about yourself you have to wear an N95 mask. The viral particles are 1.6 microns in size and in tests N95 can filter particles as small as 0.007 microns 10 times smaller than viruses, and much, much smaller than the PM2.5 cutoff. Whats more, they work surprisingly well, even while people are wearing them.
The problem with N95 masks is they are hard to come by. In addition they are very tight on the face and not comfortable at all to wear, Also if you have moderate or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease you should use the mask with care as it can cause you to retain CO2 and decrease oxygen levels.

Here is a repost of the supplements we have discussed.
Quercetin from 250mg up to 1g twice per day Remember this is a Zinc ionophore.
Vitamin D3 Take this for sure if you are deficient and I now recommend taking it as long as your values are not too high.
Sleep greater than 8 hours per night
CoQ10 100-300mg per day: a potent antioxidant that potentially helps balance oxidative stress, increase vasodilation, prevent clot formation and decrease vasoconstriction.
Zinc any amount is probably good but take what you can tolerate without making you feel bad up to 40mg. You do not want to be Zinc deficient as it is how many drugs like HCQ work.
Melatonin 1mg to 10mg at night. Take what you can tolerate and what helps you sleep without making you feel drugged or tired in the morning.
N-acetylcysteine (NAC) - 600mg twice per day shown to decrease severity of influenza, improve lung functions, antioxidant properties and help with mental disorders.
Vitamin C 250mg to 500mg twice per day. Effects debatable in oral form but IV did help in China. But is proven to strengthen immune system
Green Tea either drink some or 1 pill per day alternate zinc ionophore
As always the information and understanding of COVID-19 is changing rapidly. This information is for education purposes only and you should never make changes to your health without consulting your personal physician. Make a virtual appointment with your physician and discuss your health and the best possible treatment plan for you. It is also important to reiterate that there are no clinically evidence-based integrative prevention or treatment strategies for COVID-19 infection.
Lets all keep praying for all that are ill with this virus in the world.

why do we all of a sudden get a bunch of kids with Kawasaki like illness. where were they before? We are in lockdown. Why werent they there before lockdown in mass like this.
This whole thing is bizarre.
Please, God, let this Mf’er mutate out so we can go back to normal living.

U.S. COVID-19 death rate is 1.3%, study finds
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-05-covid-death.html
“The 1.3% rate calculation is based on cumulative deaths and detected cases across the United States, but it does not account for undetected cases, where a person is infected but shows few or no symptoms...If those cases were added into the equation, the overall death rate might drop closer to 1%, Basu said.
“The new study’s findings are based on 40,835 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,620 confirmed deaths in 116 counties across 33 states through April 20. Death rates varied widely across locales, with some counties recording a death rate of just 0.5% while others went as high as 3.6%.
“The estimate of the U.S. COVID-19 death rate is “not outside the ballpark” of estimated rates available from other countries, but lower...”
can someone tell me what I am looking at here...dont go look if you have a weak stomach. they are implying it is for the adrenochrome thing.

is this for some scientific research...i cant tell if all of these babies are dead or what... a lot of the comments are in a foreign language so that was no help
this is pretty horrifying

here is a tip for those that never had lung issues
you need to figure out how to deal with dyspnea in case you get that symptom with Wuhan. It’s air hunger
I get it from time to time and have it right now. If I didnt already know what it was I would start to think I have Wuhan Flu.
I can feel myself start to panic trying to catch air.
I am going to try to do those breathing excercises that JK rowling recommended to see if it helps.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwLzAdriec0&feature=youtu.be
i probably get it from my blood disorder...but just could be stress I guess
it is a terrible feeling...but not as bad as what you get with lung cancer
Horrifying. Twitter will pull it soon.
Heres a list of YT videos pulled so far

I saw you had the Mediterranean anemia. How often do you require transfusions.
I was transfusion dependent for over a year. But before getting the first 3 bags, I could barely get up the steps. It was awful.
Have you ever had one of those pulmonary function tests? It is one thing I try to get out of each and every time. The last time I was given it, the tech kept messing up and making me repeat the breathing exercise. At the end she said, oh no - nothing registered. Were going to have to start over. I had already been huffing and puffing for an hour. I got up and walked out.
someone theorized it could be the 21 babies from the bridge but one of them looked alive to me.I cant go back and watch it

Not tranfusion dependent, thank goodness.
most of the research is done on the severe transfusion types so it’s hard to get any info on my version and most Dr’s dont know jack about it.
this breathing thing is hard to deal with. dont get it often and body just panics on it’s own.
I feel for anyone who has to deal with breathing issues on a daily basis.
Wuhan flu will mentally do me in if I get the kind that has the breathing issues.
Thank you for the Guardian link.
Im not sure if this would work for you, but is Pro-Crit an option ?
My father passed from Emphysema. It was pretty horrific. Every cold ended with pneumonia. Hospice gave him small amounts of morphine the last 6-7 months. It helped relax his airways quite a bit.
i will check into it.
thanks
