Activists plan march on state capitals to reopen for May 1
Washington Times ^ | 4/22/20 | Dave Boyer

A network of activists led by a handyman from Illinois is organizing simultaneous demonstrations in all 50 state capitals on May 1 to argue for ending governors’ stay-at-home orders and allowing people to go back to work.

Josh Ellis of Naperville, Illinois, who owns a business repairing water and mold damage, said America’s foundation is being weakened by government overreach during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re responsible for protecting our health,” Mr. Ellis told The Washington Times. “We believe in the severity of the disease, but at the same time, we don’t feel it’s government’s right to violate our constitutional rights.”

An Army veteran, Mr. Ellis is organizing marches on every state capital through an online network calling itself “American Revolution 2.0.” The group is signing up members on Facebook, with each state having its own page titled, for example, “AR2 Texas.”

The Texas chapter is led by Gabe Tufts, a former professional wrestler whose stage name was Tyler Reks.

“If you are ready and willing to take a stand against the police state that’s taking away your constitutional rights, join your state group,” Mr. Tufts said in a post. His Facebook page is filled with posts disputing the accuracy of the government’s and academia’s projections of coronavirus infection rates.

Gov. Inslee of WA says the state will remain on shutdown after May 4th. because, well, he doesn’t know but it’ll be shutdown until he does know. Something.

May Day is a traditional day for protests for Communists. Time to give them a taste of their own medicine.

In CT we are shut down until May 20, until the Governor had picked team of experts can present a plan on said date, then decide what to do. To note, it took until last week for him to even form said team.

Take May Day away from the Commies—as we did the color red (as in Red State).

Even though IN is still under lockdown orders, my farm county is looking more normal every day

We’ve had 1 death, 2 weeks ago, and she wasn’t even in our local hospital

No reason for us to stay closed because a bunch of “immigrants” at a meat processing plant 2 counties away have tested positive.

May Day is a traditional day for protests for Communists. Time to give them a taste of their own medicine.

The problem in Oregon is that it's the main day of semi-violent protests every year, by the left. The "black-block" / antifa come out in force looking for a fight.

Anyone dumb enough to give it to them will find themselves arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. In Portland, in the last year, we've seen a 67 year old man prosecuted for driving his car at about 2 mph down a street protesters were blocking, after they surround and rock his car. No acknowledgement by the fascists police or judges that he was in legitimate fear of his life.

Another guy pulled a licensed concealed carry pistol after he was surrounded by the antia creeps. He had the book thrown at him, and again, it was clearly self defense.

Lots of casual counter-protesters have been beaten by the antifa (who are the actual Nazis at this point) and a few have given as good as they get.

Going all the way back to Charlottsville, the Unite the Right protesters were set up by the police, who disarmed them, led them into a confined space, and then before one person spoke declared it a riot and insisted they had to leave via a "guantlet" or armed (with sticks and mace, mostly) again, Lefist scum and antifa. People pushing back from the Unite the Right side were selectively prosecuted, some quite severely.

The fellow who rant into a car that was stopped in the middle of the street when he was trying to get away from the mob that was attacking him (following the GPS route given to return to his home, it was shown in court) and who is a modertately disabled person of was charged and convicted of murder in both State and Federal court and will never see the outside of a prison again. He was 22 I think. (His legal aid lawyer was a joke and aligned with the Left)

So, this is how it goes.

In liberal cities with active Antifa it is IDIOTIC to plan rallies that are likely to be disrupted by them. Having a rally on May Day is major provocation.

Maybe that's what the organizer wants. He seems like a poor strategic thinker, if not an outright shill, like the guy who organized the disaster in Charlottesville. I expect this could go just as poorly, with devastating results for some participants.

At least in Oregon I would advise skipping this rally. There are many better groups that have clearer goals, already planning events, including for the next day: Sat. May 2. Go to those instead.

Speaking of antifa. I thought they were opposed to tyrannical government, i.e., fascism.

Bunch of wusses. Now that they are face-to-face with it, where are they?

Must've slithered back under their rocks.

My county is reopening day after tomorrow and the State, Missouri, May 4th. I don’t see many/any people protesting here.

Aside from plexiglass at every cashier checkout and tape on the floor at 6 foot marks, food a little low and no more food on sale, not much changed for us. I work at home anyway and wife is essential employee.

Worst inconvenience in my life recently has been that the closest feed store closed down a few months ago and I finally have livestock this year. Now I have a 50 mile round trip instead of 20.

Great! My governor (DeSantis, Florida) just announced that many things will open on Monday (May 4) but if there’s going to be a rally in Tallahassee just to I’d go! Some counties will open later (South Florida) but they’re Dem counties and while they had a higher incidence, they’re okay and probably just don’t want to open because they’re Dems. But I bet the Hispanic population, which is mostly small business owners (or independently wealthy people from LatAm) will be agitating to get it open sooner.

The liberal New Yorkers, of course, never opening is their dream.

Around Columbia SC, I see a little more traffic in the mornings and around 5.

I haven’t heard of any harassment by the gendarmes towards mere citizens such as myself.

According to the Energy Information Agency, the demand for gasoline increased about 10% over the prior week, from 5.3 million barrels/day to 5.8 million barrels/day. Way down from the same time period last year, but at least it indicates more activity.

Now that you mention it, I’ve seen the pump price edge up a little.

I should top off the ethanol-free gas cans.
