Masks, separated slots, more cleaning once casinos reopen (Atlantic City)

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- The coronavirus could be a literal game changer once America's casinos reopen.

Many decisions remain to be made. But prepare to have your temperature scanned at the door. Maybe a half or third of slot machines will work. Every other table could be closed, and there could even be plexiglass barriers between dealers and customers or separating slot machines.

Dealers and servers and customers - including those who smoke - all could be required to wear masks in many places.

Workers may be standing by to wipe down slot machines, kiosks and even elevator buttons as soon as someone is done touching them. One Las Vegas casino plans to hand out plastic sticks for pressing the buttons.

Such safety measures being considered in casinos across the country, even though a wide-scale reopening of the industry could still be weeks away, if not longer.

I believe Oaklawn Downs stayed open with no spectators. They have a brand new hotel they are building next to the track and if they can’t open it, they’ll be in a hurt for money.

The economy is ruined even if every state in the Union “opened up” tomorrow morning. Social Distancing and mask wearing alone will end everything from championship checkers to the NFL. Eating out? - masks and everyone separated by 6ft or more - nope. Air travel? LOL. Freedom and Liberty? - it’s conditional based on individual behavior. Imagine the cost increase of everyday items when this New World Reality really settles in. Imagine a world filled with social distancing justice, mask wearing leftists running around with their hair on fire over “narcissists” refusing to follow the rules.

Globalization and World Communism seems to have happened virtually overnight. Not a shot fired.
