Clip surfaces of Biden accuser Tara Reade's mother phoning into 'Larry King Live' in 1993 alluding to claim

A resurfaced clip on "Larry King Live" in 1993 appears to show the mother of Tara Reade -- who has accused Joe Biden of past sexual assault while in the Senate -- alluding to “problems” her daughter faced while working as a staffer for the then-Delaware senator.

In a telephone interview with Fox News on Friday night, Reade confirmed that her mother called into the show. Biden's presidential campaign has adamantly denied Reade's allegations but the video could be cited as evidence supporting Reade’s allegation – even though her late mother, in the clip, does not specifically refer to a sexual assault claim.

The Intercept on Friday first reported the transcript of a broadcast from Aug. 11, 1993, of a woman from San Luis Obispo County in California calling into the show about her daughter's experience on Capitol Hill.

"San Luis Obispo, California, hello," King began.

"Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him," the caller said.

"In other words, she had a story to tell but, out of respect for the person she worked for, she didn’t tell it?" King followed.

That woman was Jeanette Altimus, Reade's mother, Reade told news outlets, including Fox News.

Later Friday, the Media Research Center found the clip in its archives matching the information provided by The Intercept.

Reade took to Twitter to confirm that it was her mother who called into "Larry King Live."

He’s dead Jim.

Not many suburban white college educated women will vote for “ Creepy Joe the Digital Penetrator.”

Actually the #VicePrezipenatrator.

Joe lets his fingers do the talking!Make a darn good president, keeping those women in line!

His female Vice Presidential pick will have to have only one talent, “ spread ‘em!”

#Me Too!

Dead man walking. Just the timing in question. The stage he ascends on will probably have a trap door. He is greeted as the nominee at the time when it opens and away he goes. Next piece of equipment, a crane, is used to lift in the quarter ton psycho replacement her lowness.

“its early ... Trump’s team will unleash later just at the right time (1st debate)”

Trump needs to ignore and let the surrogates take this.

Tara Reade will be sitting on the first row of the presidential debate.

It worked against Hillary.

Joe’s dementia is so bad, he couldn’t recognize her if it happened last week, never mind 27 years ago.

Yep, I’m sure Trump will tell her story from the debate stage and ask Joe if he wants to apologise.

Joe won't know who she is.

He doesn't recognize his own wife half the time.

Assaulting Biden with deep political wounds before their convention is Dem-driven; after the convention more likely Repub-driven.

We don’t want to “kill the king” at this point (politically). The dems do.

This may not be the end for Biden, but sounds like the beginning of the End.

Who cares about this? Her time to tell her story was over twenty years ago but “she had too much respect for Biden.” I call BS on this. If we don’t want to accept this kind of political assassination by accusation on someone we that support, we shouldn’t accept it on someone that we don’t. There are laws for this and there are also statutes of limitations. If you want to report a crime, try to do it withing a decade or two. That’s not too much to ask. We already know that Biden is a sleaze.

Bernie is warming up in the bullpen. Sleepy Joe won’t survive to make it to the convention for the nomination.

Now I’m wondering, after hiding its existence for decades, if CNN leaked the tape on purpose. If so, at whose behest...?

Respect has to earned, not buying this.

More likely she kept quite because she was threatenend, she wanted to remain above dirt.

The media will try to ignore it, but I am seeing prominent folks on the left (not really ardent Biden supporters) saying “she should be heard” so the wall of silence about this may not hold.

I am a “presumed innocent until proven guilty person”, but cannot help but feel a little schadenfreude about the entire thing after the Kavanaugh debacle.

These accusations appear far more credible than those of the Kavanaugh accuser.

I did a lot of reading regarding the corruption allegations surrounding the Ukraine and China with Biden. Those are VERY credible and involve some actual crimes for which there appear to be probable cause with shady money transfers through foreign banks to Hunter and Co. at the same time his father was demanding removal of a prosecutor investigating Burisma. The hedge fund deal with China also stinks to high heaven as does the taxpayer funded housing in Iraq from which Biden’s brother benefited.

These things about Biden will not go away because non-mainstream journalists will not abandon the stories.

Agreed.

We can call him Placeholder Joe.

A zero.

He was a zero placeholder VP and he will be a zero placeholder President if elected.

Kavanaugh gets the third degree due to alleged high school behavior while a sitting Senator gets a pass on an work place sexual assault? Why am not surprised?
