AG Barr Says He May Go After Governors Who Persist on Authoritarian Coronavirus Lockdown Orders

US Attorney General Bill Barr on Tuesday said he may go after Governors who insist on maintaining authoritarian Coronavirus lockdown orders.

The DOJ could take legal action against Governors drunk on power and infringing on Constitutional rights, Bill Barr said according to Bloomberg News.

Barr said on “The Hugh Hewitt Show” that state’s stay-at-home orders are justified up to a point, but the DOJ could target state and local officials by joining lawsuits filed by citizens over the authoritarian restrictions.

“We have to give businesses more freedom to operate in a way that’s reasonably safe,” Barr said, according to Bloomberg. “To the extent that governors don’t and impinge on either civil rights or on the national commerce — our common market that we have here — then we’ll have to address that.”

The only amendment in the Bill of Rights that has not been incorporated is the Third Amendment.

He may? Rights are being violated and Mayor McCheese is mulling it over? I swear Barr is the most ineffective sack of AG crap the DOJ has ever had. Dont confuse those in the past who abused power. They didnt have it and used it. Barr has it and doesnt use it.

Civil rights violations, for one thing. I don't have to list them. We know what they are.

You are correct! I should have stated paragraphs, not sentences.

Ok — thanks.

I think my first paragraph is correct ... mainly because I’ve been following the this whole process closely and President Trump is doing exactly what I thought he would do.

We’ll see how it unfolds!

We all knew Dems don’t like freedoms, but the initial 2 - weeks to slow the curve and let hospitals prepare seemed reasonable, then came the extensions and new restrictions to keep the Karens happy. The Karens love the control so they can feel like they are helping, the rest are fed up.

I don’t think he blew it.

His decision was the right one. It is a state’s rights issue.

I don’t think he can be faulted for the reaction of the little tyrants that let the power go to their heads.

This needs to be at the forefront of the elections this year. The dems got exposed, certainly without their intending to, but exposed nevertheless.

We need to not let people forget it.

Yep, he’s going after them the way he always does, with talk.

Jawboning they used to call it back when it worked sometimes.

Individuals have already filed lawsuits regarding church services. So far, the DOJ has interceded in one case, that of Mississippi’s ban on drive-in church services. They need to step up, and get involved in the other lawsuits out there, like the closing of gun shops.

Barr suing governors trying to protect their populations will blow up on him & Trump. Trump said it was up to the states. That’s how it needs to be.
