Sorry for the vanity, but I am concerned, I work in the hospitality industry, always have. There have always been highs and lows, but this is the low of lows.
With the government mandate of social distancing, I'm afraid that there will be no big gatherings, such as wedding receptions, proms, family reuions, company meetings, etc in the future.
I understand. But, I think we have the best president possible to get us over this. We will probably end up with automated temperature checkers outside events and a staff to stop people who are showing symptoms. We will adjust and adapt.
I read recently that cruises are being booked for 2021. That means people believe that we will overcome this event and go back to normal.
The real upset will come when China goes into civil war. There never has been a civil war where nuclear weapons could be involved. (Don’t tell me Jefferson Davis or Abraham Lincoln wouldn’t have used them. They would both feel compelled to use them to save lives.) While people will say, hey, good. No more China, there is no way the Chinese will let us escape unscathed.

As in ever??
POTUS says we’ll have our country back and it will be better than ever before.
Are you in Dallas?
Gov Abbott has already begun the opening process, for TX.
Not until a vaccine, so hopefully next year.
I don’t think it will be for awhile anyways.
One of my bosses is on Trump’s “restart America” committee and the social distancing will continue for years to come he believes.
They will be phasing in a return to work over time. It will not be easy.
Do not take to heart the dismal pontifications of America’s sadistic Pravda (media) Its major preoccupation and delight is in psychopolitical warfare against the enemy-—primarily, America’s middle class. They want us to be miserable, to believe that it’s all over and we might as well throw in the towel.
Keep Calm and Vote Trump.
If the libs win, it’s over.
We will be in large gatherings again soon.
Knowing treatment handles those who dont naturally catch it and cure themselves is half of the remaining part. The next part is seeing the antibody test results of at least a small random sample of Americans. If that shows a lot already had COVID but didnt know, then all remaining concern flies out the door pretty quickly after that.
Keep your chin up.
As they’ve made abundantly clear...time and time again...the Rats never let a crisis go to waste. It remains to be seen just how successful they’ll be in forever damaging this beautiful experiment called The United States of America.
I’m with you. We’re a government police state now. It will never be the same. The bad guys won and everyone just hid in their houses and let them.
If our rights are not restored, Americans will revolt and slaughter every sticking Rat until our rights are fully restore. I only hope that this shut-in has caused many more Americans to be question all the rights that have been partly restricted by government over the years.
It is the responsibility of every older conservative American to educate younger generations about the freedoms and liberties that we once had. Speak of those days fondly and infect young ones with a burning desire for freedom. Above all else, they need to know that freedom makes life worth living and all dreams possible.
I moved from Seattle to rural KY 9 years ago. My normal changed, and in a lot of very good ways. “Normal” is whatever is normal to you. Normal in th dangerous neighborhoods of Chicago and LA is different than normal in a gated community. Normal is also always changing. But sometimes it changes a lot in a short time.
In my rural area, where my wife and I rarely eat out, etc., our life really has not changed much. Well, we finally built that big 30x50 garage we’ve been meaning to build for 9 years. It means we can now store our stuff in a dry place, I can do woodworking and maintain my cars in a dry, climate controlled environment. So our normal has changed.
I think the real blowing up of everyone’s normal is when the economy finally responds to what we’re doing to it. that will probably take a few months to really sink in.
Just imagine if you lived in Poland at that time.
And no more snuggling with your SO either.
I have two nieces that had to cancel their big weddings, one in May, one in June. They are going to have small home weddings with just immediate family. Im going to give them some extra cash from the money I saved on flights and lodging. The weddings are in major Covid-19 hotspots.
What is normal? Things have changed a great deal in just the last 10 years.
Everybody needs to learn to wash their damn hands - more than once a day.
I'm concerned too that there are a fair number of businesses that won't make it through. But I think most of these things will come back fairly strong. For one thing, it has made people realize how much they enjoy those kind of things.
Chin up. Carry on. Don't let Comrade Governors and Comrade Mayors win.
“Stay at home mandates or not, people are not going to gather as they once did.”
This is true. I cannot see myself sitting down in a restaurant for a long time. Church might not be that easy either.
