The Chinese laboratory at the center of scrutiny over a potential coronavirus leak has been using U.S. government money to carry out research on bats from the caves which scientists believe are the original source of the deadly outbreak.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology undertook coronavirus experiments on mammals captured more than 1,000 miles away in Yunnan which were funded by a $3.7 million grant from the US government.
Sequencing of the COVID-19 genome has traced it back to bats found in Yunnan caves but it was first thought to have transferred to humans at an animal market in Wuhan.
The revelation that the Wuhan Institute was experimenting on bats from the area already known to be the source of COVID-19 - and doing so with American money - has sparked further fears that the lab, and not the market, is the original outbreak source.
Lawmakers and pressure groups were quick to hit out at U.S. funding being provided for the 'dangerous and cruel animal experiments at the Wuhan Institute'.
US Congressman Matt Gaetz said: 'I'm disgusted to learn that for years the US government has been funding dangerous and cruel animal experiments at the Wuhan Institute, which may have contributed to the global spread of coronavirus, and research at other labs in China that have virtually no oversight from US authorities.'
On Saturday, Anthony Bellotti, president of the US pressure group White Coat Waste, condemned his government for spending tax dollars in China, adding: 'Animals infected with viruses or otherwise sickened and abused in Chinese labs reportedly may be sold to wet markets for consumption once experiments are done.'
The $37million Wuhan Institute of Virology, the most advanced laboratory of its type on the Chinese mainland, is based twenty miles from the now infamous wildlife market

Its interesting that a story this large would fail to discuss the date the grant from the US was given. This sentence might give a clue: Results of the U.S-funded research at the Wuhan Institute were published in November 2017. Since it was actually published in 2017, it was likely started well before January 2017. This would make it extremely likely that the grant was given by the Obama administration. It seems like that would an important part of the story.
It’s also important to know that there were actually two labs in Wuhan doing research on coronaviruses, and it was the other lab - the local Chinese government’s version of the CDC - that is most likely the source of the leak (if there was one). The CDC was just a block from the seafood market. The Level 4 lab was three miles away.
Interesting paper from China published in Feb 2020

Why can’t we ever get NAMES of the people doing these things. That kind if money doesn’t grow in trees. It takes a careful plan to acquire and send such funds. Who did it?
Interesting that Fauci is NIH, and NIH is in cahoots with Wuhan. I believe that Chanel Rion from OANN has done a deep investigation connecting Fauci to WuFlu via the N.C. lab.
I saved this post by Captain7seas last week.
“I recall seeing the Agreement posted on here I think that showed a grant from NIH that was funding research at University of North Carolina / Chapel Hill and that they were working in collaboration with the Wuhan lab. I saw it and read it. I also watched Fauci on Fox a couple days ago dismiss the idea that it was created or from a lab and he supported the wet market theory. Which if all the above is true makes him a lier. 27 posted on 4/4/2020, 4:00:03 PM by Captain7seas (UN EXIT!)”
This Richardson oracle worked at “THE NATION” and we are still reading this?
Might explain the back and forth between Trump and Xi about where the virus came from.
SHOCKED! Shocked, I tell you.
That the greatest traitor in American History should investigate killing his country with the help of the Chinese Communist government.
Well that certainly shakes my confidence in the press. You'd want to believe that they would be interested in discovering the truth.

This is an OMG ping.
Why are we giving money to China for them to research viruses tied to the weird animals their population eats and thus viruses likely to hit them first?
Why aren’t we keeping this money in the U.S. so American researchers can research ways to mitigate the impact of Chinese viruses that hit our mainland?
why is there always a China apologist ready to jump on any mention of the following?
China spreads money around thickly to western politicians and media outlets. Its how they plan to eclipse us then subjugate us. They are using our obvious greed and lack of any loyalty to our own societies and fellow citizens against us.
Their leader is an Obama apointee who was kept on by Donald Trump. He was in charge when the grant was being handed out to the Chinese. I suppose he's be a good first person to ask.
Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D. was appointed the 16th Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate. He was sworn in on August 17, 2009. On June 6, 2017, President Donald Trump announced his selection of Dr. Collins to continue to serve as the NIH Director. In this role, Dr. Collins oversees the work of the largest supporter of biomedical research in the world, spanning the spectrum from basic to clinical research.
2014? Interesting. I’m seeing some sort of legerdemain going on here.
Thank you, much appreciated.

LOTS of information, about all things China virus, it’s origins, other agencies involved in similar testing, etc.
But, the ONE thing I was trying to determine.....when did US begin funding this grant to Wuhan lab....is ONLY in the by headline...NO WHERE ELSE, to be found, in article...
Here’s what’s in the by-headline...
The U.S. government funded research on coronavirus transmission in the lab over the past decade
Likely a main vein for the ChiCom kickbacks, to USA leftists/pols....via these University donations.
This?

Ethics statement
All sampling procedures were performed by veterinarians with approval from Animal Ethics Committee of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIVH05210201). The study was conducted in accordance with the Guide for the Care and Use of Wild Mammals in Research of the Peoples Republic of China.
Sampling
Bat samplings were conducted ten times from April 2011 to October 2015 at different seasons in their natural habitat at a single location (cave) in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.

Thanks....that has to be at least a big part of the study/funding.
2011 - 2015
I’m curious how it all got started, but...that’s likely a vert tangled web.
Thanks, much, my FRiend.
You are always SO quick to find info :)
They need to get the man referenced in post #52 in front of a Senate committee and ask him why and when they started funding the Chinese.
