It's time (beyond time, actually) for Trump to be bold and green light the country getting back to work. That will put huge pressure on the cities, counties and states that did their own lockdown. The unemployment and suffering are going to be epic as it is.
The time to end this is NOW. This virus is no different than anything else that has come our way and we never shut the government down in the past.
The idiot talking heads like Fauci, have been WRONG, just like the Imperial College modelling. All agenda driven.
Also, I think cuomo is lying about deaths to try to justify his cry for more ventilators (which he got busted lying about).
Time to end it and get back to work.
Hone your skills at detecting sarcasm.
I hear hospitals are busy.

We shut down 90% of social interaction and dented R0 by about 0.5.
What is still open? How is this being spread? What did South Korea do differently?
Hospitals are still open. Many HCW’s(healthcare workers are spreaders by being asymptomatic and/or not taking care on carrying the virus from one place to another).

South Korea figured the above out and implemented strict rules. HCW’s should be fired on the spot for violations as the numbers(R0, deaths, and new cases) are implicating them.

Wildlife is already taking over our abandoned playgrounds. We saw two owls strutting about the basketball court last night.

Some comments:
For countries with large elderly populations, the death rate is very high at around 8 to 9%.
As of March 24, There were 8,961 confirmed cases in S. Korea.
111 patients had died.
3,166 patients fully recovered.
Out of about 9,000 confiremed cases, 20% showed no symptoms.
Asymptomatice person can still spread the virus.
Death rate for those over the age of 80, in S. Korea, is 11.6%.
For people in their 70s, the death rate is 6.3%.
1.5% for people in their 60s.
0.4% for those in their 50s.
One 40 yo died, and 1 30 yo died (0.1% for both).
No deaths in S. Korea below these age groups.
In S. Korea, 90% of those who died were over 60.
Yes, you can get reinfected after you've had the virus.
“...I think Trumps first instinct, that this was a hoax meant to screw him over, was correct.....”
Yep. Keep in mind; he had more info than any of us before all this went down.
When this “virus BS” finally comes to a close, there should be the CoronaVirus Trials with a gallows immediately available outside the courtroom for instant use.
Good post. And I would add that state & county health departments have the final say on “lock-downs”/quarantines anyway...the Feds can declare an epidemic quarantine themselves if they want to but cannot “undo” a local/state one.
Agree 100%
New Orleans.
