I have a relative coming in from another state to stay with me. I am at risk and have been isolated. How do I introduce him into the home, 2 week quarantine? In Garage? Cannot find a camper. Ideas??
I have no real way to have him come into the house and quarantine from me. There are no options. Live in northern new England.
I have a two car garage attached to the house, but it is cold and drafty.
I thought of borrowing a big tent and putting it in the garage to give it some space, and room.
cannot find a camper to borrow or rent.
cannot afford to purchase one
Ideas would be appreciated.
Well, the good news is that you’ve received lots of great suggestions.
I see.
Regardless of the logistics, why have him there if you will both be worried about the virus, wouldn’t it take the joy out of the visit?
Get a camper toilet, ask your neighbors, someone probably has one. He will have to camp out until he either gets tested or gets past the incubation period.where is your washer and dryer?
Can’t he stay home for now? I’m supposed to have family visit Easter weekend, but it can always be cancelled.
Not very smart to let them come at this time.
My mother landed in Argentina 3 weeks ago and she is under a military mandated quarantine in that country. Even if she could come home, I’d be stupid to let her come and stay with me considering I’d be putting my entire family at risk.
I’d rethink this arrangement if I were you.
Tell ‘em to wait till the all-clear before coming over. Supposedly, folks aren’t supposed to be out anyway.
If he is so self absorbed that he does not get why his visit presents a risk to you the subtle approach is not going to work. Tell him to stay home. Unless this is a family emergency and his visit cannot be postponed. Yur health comes first.
He is single, goes all over the world, and is an "its just a flu bro" type (anti vaxxer too). Nope. See you later, bud. I have a family to protect. Oh, he also ran out of TP AND food.
Bait shrimp in his pillow might hasten his return home.
Once he is cleared, he can move in, things are uncertain now.
He knows full well, I invited him, he is still unsure, His world just fell in.
Your friend does not sound like a good candidate.
Do you think his work will be beginning on schedule? How willing is he to mitigate any risk he may expose you to? How realistic is it to quarantine yourself from somebody you write is there to help you (that is the impression I got). Do you trust him to limit outside contact? Just what will he be doing for you? You need to consider the risk factor involved in each of those activities and decide how to reduce that risk.
That is too bad and I hope he is able to recover from that misfortune.

Okay. So you are the one that asked him to come and stay. Sounds
like you are trying to help him but at the same time you aren’t
sure if you should help him because of the COVID thing. There are
a lot of other things not known to us. But I would say take your
health/security as number one and then factor in the visitor as to
the need and how it will impact or put you into jepadory. Good luck.
If he has a bedroom to stay in, then he stays in there. He only comes out to go outside or go to the bathroom. Disinfect the bathroom each time he uses it.
Cook for him and leave it by door.
After 5 days you can be a little more comfortable, but best to do for 14 days.
If he is on your couch, then I would probably let him have the bedroom and I’d sleep on the couch near the kitchen.
What if it wasnt planned?
Easy.
Im sorry, but I cant receive any visitors now, until the virus ends, because it could kill me. Lets get together after it ends.
All that proves is the relative is negative today.
Relative’s status can flip to positive tommorow.
First of all is you BIL n idiot or reasonably sane?
