Ground Reports on the "Deadly" China Virus, please...
Vanity | March 23, 2020 | Vanity

I am calling official B.S. on this hoax of a "pandemic." We have been told by the "scientists" that hospitals would be overrun, the dead would be piling up, etc. Please post "on the ground" reports from your city/state. Are your hospitals overrun? Are healthy people dying? Any signs that a Bubonic Plague is among us?

It’s a lower respiratory infection, not a GI infection.

Great report. So the STORES are being overrun, but the hospital ERs have tumbleweed rolling down the aisles!

I’ll be back. I’m going to watch the MSM’s evening predictions of millions dead and an economy that resembles the pre industrial revolution.

If any place would have overrun hospitals, it would be Greater Boston. Thanks for the response.

I understand, but steps take based only on “conditions on the ground” are reactive, not proactive. Preventative actions can no doubt be overdone, but by definition they are actions taken in anticipation of conditions, not solely based on existing conditions.

Just for your own information, check out this website https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/

As a comparison...CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 38 million flu illnesses, 390,000 hospitalizations and 23,000 deaths from flu.

I usually see a LOT of air traffic from DIA. There is nothing in the sky today. During a 1 hour walk with my wife we saw a single jet and NO CONTRAILS in the big sky.

It reminded me of 9/11.

Pandemic as defined by Webster’s Dictionary - adj (of a disease) affecting an entire country, or the whole world. (Greek pandemos, universal).

Yep...totally understand that, but conditions on the ground certainly play into the decisions so we don’t crash an economy and unemploy people based on other countries that have different social norms, hygiene conditions, hospital conditions, etc....the world populations are not monolithic

In San Francisco. We are “Shelter In Place” and have been for like ten days. We have not had one death.

Our economy has died however. Massive layoffs. Half the hotels closed. Etc.

Kent County, Michigan has ZERO active cases and one fatality. I assume the one got it somewhere else.

If this turns out to be official B.S. We need to remove the leaders who believed this hoax from Office. We need to impeach them all starting with President Trump.

No leader should be allow to lead a country down the path of destruction for no reason or a B.S. Hoax. A leader should be wise and not be mislead by a Hoax.

Maybe the Democrats are right President Trump is not wise enough to lead. President Trump is out front supporting this Hoax making decisions to shut down the economy.

If we do not see the hospital overran we need to demand impeachment for ruining the economy. We are facing a Great Depression for this Hoax.

If they do not impeach, we need to either not vote in Nov or vote for Biden with Hillary as his Vice President.

I don’t appreciate being called a “moron.” Freepers are conservatives/libertarians. We use REASON, not pink hat emotional diatribes. To answer the points you raised:
1) We are not Italy. Our population is younger, smokes at a rate 50% less, and we don’t have socialized medicine. All of Italy’s dead are super-seniors/seniors with serious underlying health issues. I have read multiple reports that even before Covid19, if a super-senior was taken to an Italian ER with life-threatening conditions, they were “rationed” out of care. We don’t do that in the USA.
2) China has 1.4 billion people, and they have 5,000 deaths. That’s a fairly small number of dead, considering that the flu kills tens of thousands of Chinese per year.
3) I am not denying the existence of the China Virus and that, if contracted by an older person with serious respiratory issues it could be fatal. I question whether it is any more deadly than the flu or other pathogens that get passed around.

As far as I know there have been ZERO predictions of overrun hospitals by 23 March. You cannot look at the current case load and learn anything. You have to look at the number of new infections occurring daily. Even more importantly you need to look at the number of deaths in the most recent day.

What you will see is that both numbers are growing exponentially. That may change but it hasn’t yet. For example the number of new infections is about 10 times what it was a week ago. The number of daily deaths YESTERDAY is about 6 times what it was a week ago.

Wait another week. We could easily have 100 times the infections we had a week ago and people dying over 30 time more frequently than they were a week ago. Wait two weeks and either things change or we are going to be counting hospital beds to see if there any that are vacant.

That’s what the data tells us. It’s not really bad yet. But there is a freight train headed our way.

I think, I hope, I pray, that President Trump realizes that.

(That if we don’t see an onslaught this week it’s time to go back to work)
