It’s part of my spring training in preparation for Gator football this fall.

Fresh bats blood - there is a cauldron of bats, s.e. corner of the cabin. They drop from the eaves an dusk to fly, the trick is to use a baseball bat or a net to collect them, if a net you need to slam it hard against the deck railing to knock them out. Then quickly cut their heads off and squeeze the body hard over a container. Takes about four bats to get 6 ounces. I grew some reaper peppers last year, the wife ground them up for me. I sprinkle a good portion of that in, shake well and swallow. i chase it with a shot of Everclear, the good stuff 190 proof.
It is important to wear gloves and use the Everclear to kill any nasty bits.

I watched Old Yeller, back to back to back, in the theater, when I was maybe 10 years old. And yes, I cried like a baby.
That would’ve been around 1967. Now I’ll have to go look up the movie on IMDB’s website.
