Just got back from Safeway in Mountain View, California and I took notice of peoples' priorities in the current COVID-19 hysteria.
Pasta and tomato sauce -- wiped out...
Paper goods - cleaned out...
And right next to the paper goods section...Condoms - PLENTIFUL!
ha ha.
not sure what that says about people, but ha ha.
Just watch for 9 months later when we have a Baby Boom!
9 months from now we’re going to see a massive baby boom. And, in the year 2033 or 2034, those babies will be called the Quaranteens.
Annoyed to see folks take a sh**load of toilet paper and the hell with their neighbor.
I was out shopping this morning. Everything was still available, although there were TP vultures, waiting for two palettes of TP. No one went without. I just did my normal shopping for fresh ingredients. I got TP last week. I’m ok for a month.
Not good here in central Indiana.
Our favorite restaurant had 3 of 40 tables filled.
Typically a 15 wait to get a table on Sat night.
Wait staff sent home, owner doing all the work tonight
Adjacent fast food places looked real slow too, hard to tell if the few cars were just workers or customers. Drive thru empty too.
I’m visiting my son in Tarzana and went to the market to get a few items and there was no meat and all canned soup and other canned food gone as well. People are crazy. I was actually ashamed for the outright greed and selfishness on display. How are you going to eat all that stuff? I have plenty of food and supplies at home in the mountains. I told my son if things go south to bring his family to my fortress of solitude.
“Quaranteens” — LOL. Love it!
Finally, an end to the “Gen X,” “Gen Y,” “Millenial,” etc simpleton names.
Very clever AND quick. Well played.
In a few years, they’ll be called “Quaranteens”
Dang, I should’ve read all the comments first
I’d say it would be best to not visit restaurants for a couple of weeks....but vow to go eat out a little more after that......
I have plenty of every thing but stocking up is not totally foolish.
You should have already done so tho.
Hot Springs, Arkansas Wal-marts, wiped out, no paper goods, I got the last two packages of hamburger meat, no canned veggies, no frozen veggies, no eggs, luncheon meats or hotdogs, 16oz soft drinks and water, Produce cleaned out...
Krogers all meat gone, veggie can goods, frozen veggies, milk, water 16oz soft drinks, produce....
Dollar General spotty, most are sold out of paper goods and select can goods...
Good. Maybe Americans will start reproducing again.
The future belongs to those who show up.
My wife chatted with a friend in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (zero cases in ID so far). She went to the local Costco and found it full of people from the Spokane, WA area. Like locusts, they are all heading 35 miles east to wipe out the next town over.
Our friend got there at 8 this morning. Normal opening is 9:30 AM on Saturday, but she has a special card that gets her in an hour before normal opening. She was number 250 in line at 8 am!
Get plenty of TP cuz the SHTF.
Yes, greed and selfishness. We are in So Cal, folks are nuts. Shelves emptied. The local super market stripped clean, and they said they are getting only ‘regular’ supplies, not extra, from the warehouses. Shame on the hoarders.
