I want to share with you some scenes that greeted me at my local Kroger today.
These are scenes from a panicked populace.
Like locusts, they are stripping the shelves bare.
Kroger Toilet Paper aisle.
Kroger Deli Meat aisle.
Kroger bottled water aisle.
Considering how compromised Hughes immune system had become, for real, his OCD about germs (which expanded from his well known demanding perfection in his aircraft/engineering/piloting/ and design work) was to his benefit.
Managed (and ripped off) by his Mormons, ever present in the casino business (and the licensing boards, on the take), who allowed all kinds of opiates and the things that killed him, aside from his degraded mental status.
Another FReeper who does not know whom he is addressing. An expert in survival tactics and knowledge. Point of the Spear kind of expertise.
A Berkley was one of my prep items.
I hope you’re doing better.
And u, not caring, walking around, contracting it and passing it to others.
Pshaw that was my city on thors day
Ive seen societal collapse several times
Coronavirus infects tapwater?
I really like the honor system veggie stands all around NH and VT.
If i tried that out on my street both the remaining vegs and the money would be gone in less than a half-hour.
i gotta get out of here....
They are not all hoarders. Just ALOT of unprepared sheep. When alot of people go shopping for 2-3 weeks of supplies the normal distribution system can’t keep up. It is not sized for that.
I dont think i would have said that.
Careful up there. Sucks falling off a tall horse.
[Welcome to Venezuela....]
That’s correct. I predicted an “event” (media-fueled in this case) would strip grocery stores in 72 hours. For some, it was less than 24 hours.
My closest Wal-Mart is out of toilet paper, bread, soup (yesterday), most canned goods (ALL gone today, reportedly) and most meat products.

Officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and epidemic experts from universities around the world conferred last month... Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.
And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the U.S. could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nations medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

[Even if people arent worried they know everyone else will buy up everything so they have to buy now also.]
That is correct. I bought Friday night (a few things) simply because there will be a shortage.
Now, admittedly, I do expect some levels will be close to normal in a couple weeks, once the initial panic is over.
I didn’t get much, couple packages of toilet paper (needed that anyways), a few canned goods (less than 20) and since no bread, yeah some extra tortillas and bagels (bagels only good for a couple of weeks). And since ammonia cleaner was cheap, a couple of those. I had already bought some cheap bleach a week ago or so.
But I’m a prepper. Always 6 months or so of food. I won’t eat like a prince, but I do have stuff to eat.
I bought my extra ammo many months ago. Pray (I do) that I never need it. But I don’t shoot it up.
I hope you can feel your legs by now. :)
Except...not going to WWII museum, ya? You assuned that would be open for you.
You were wrong, assuming and arrogant. And still are.
