Yesterday's thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3823939/posts?page=1301
There's been books and movies about it
Lookner
838 new cases and 12 new deaths in France. Totals now 4,499 cases, 91 deaths.
Per my stepdaughter (sadly a liberal), next week her babysitter will take the children to the school for their “free” lunch but it will be a sack lunch picked up curbside. My stepdaughter can afford to provide lunches but, hey, “it’s free”. Sigh.
“Don’t you know who I am?”
Yup.
Food.
Not until Monday midnight.
Ok, so here is where we are personally... in my county and surrounding we are doubling cases every 2 days and are up to 64 (probably 640 but I digress...). My husband decided to pull the plug and move to our quarantine camper. We have high risk - me, an elderly parent, and a child with asthma and other health issues. I wasnt worrying about him, except some of the news lately seems to show a shift to younger population getting severe illness...
My husband is in a service industry that will likely have him working deep into an outbreak, and he is face to face with 40-50 people per day. Hes super healthy, on Keto, I think he would come through CV the best of all of us.
Well, my sons last exposure to anyone was Tuesday when he played a sports game. One of his teammates is running a high fever today. So, at first I was like, no big deal, because that 5 days ago and the kid wasn’t symptomatic. But my son said to me, what if he was exposed at the same venue as his teammate. So he decided to hang out in the basement a few days and take his temp a few times per day. He doesnt really mind, as his computer and gaming setup is down there, lol.
Anyway, this all is hitting wayyyy to close to home. I did a deep clean today, bleached the house top to bottom, changed out air filters, turned off HVAC and opened windows.
I KNOW the odds are we are going to get sick. My hopes are we get sick
closer to the end when there is a better understanding of the virus, treatment, if any and hospital beds.
“The flubros will be hurt the worst with the closing of grocery stores.”
Grocery stores? What are grocery stores? I’ve heard of them...I think? Hmmm...
Oh yea! That is where Flu-Deniers go when they realize that we were right.
Regards this comment:
>>At this point, speculating about utility cutoffs is irresponsible and really does qualify as fearmongering.
The inevitability of rolling power brown outs and black outs is exactly what the utility companies briefed to Pres. Trump 3-10-2020.
A small portable electric generator that can keep a freezer or refrigerator going for 12-hours at a shot
Yes this is definitely coming.
But the US is a much bigger country than France.
I hope this is done sparinglythat means in the areas where there is evidence of outbreaks.
Tomorrow or the day after, the rest of the world overtakes China for official deaths.
And we still don’t know what’s happening in Africa or South/Central America for the most part.
Italy, by itself will overtake China in less than a week at current trends.
China has a lot to answer for.
How do you know this?
We need sources, FRiend.
Seriously.
Shekinah Glory to you and yours. “Come quickly Lord Jeusues Christos”
That last sentence made me laugh at loud!!
Shh, don’t tell Homeland Security I have 3 pressure canners.
Eating plan right now is concentrate on the fridge first. Next freezer. Last is pantry.
Squirrel? I moved from Ctrl FL to the boonies in the Ozarks 10 years ago. We spent two years off grid while we looked for land we could afford. We drank water from a Spring fed creek run through a ceramic filter. We cooked on fire. Found land in an area loaded with Springs. The one down the hill from us has been certified by the State as saleable as Spring Water. I have been slipping on stored foods though and progress on the property hasn't gone as fast as I'd like.
I'm supposes to start working at home for money this year to help get things moving around here. I hope this crap blows over quick.
We’ll find out soon enough.
When the electricity goes, so does our septic. Fair warning to the neighbors when I have to go outside.
