When the electricity goes, so does our septic. Fair warning to the neighbors when I have to go outside.
I have one neighbor within a half mile, and they have goats—so they can’t complain!
Not sure about pulling out the old generator. Carb may need cleaning. Can’t even remember where the on lever position is, probably dusty.
If you rely on electric for sewer this probably won’t help because you’re probably not out in the country where they do logging but ... might help for someone wanting to isolate themselves
If you have a saw mill around, sawdust and 5 gallon buckets, little plywood and a toilet seat. Put 2-3 inches of sawdust in it. Start doing your business, covering with sawdust each time. Make a compost pile for it. There’s actually a book about it called Humanure Handbook and you can find the older version for free as a pdf. We lived pretty primitive for a couple of years while looking for land so ....
