'What More Does A Woman Have to Do?' Elizabeth Warren's Donors Share Their Frustrations With Her Exit
Time ^ | 3/06/20 | ALANA ABRAMSON

It wasn’t until August 8th, 2019, months into the unofficial start of the Democratic presidential primary, that Naomi Zikmund-Fisher threw her money behind Elizabeth Warren. The 49-year-old social worker from Superior Township, Mich., had supported Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary. But in Warren, she saw something different: a candidate who had translated Sanders’ progressive talking points into tangible policies, and one who might actually win. She deposited $2,800 – the maximum donation an individual can give a candidate during a primary – into Warren’s campaign. “I thought she had a good chance,” Zikmund-Fisher says. “I gave to her, honestly, with the thought that she’s [going to] be the nominee, and let’s get her campaign off the ground right now.”

Zikmund-Fisher was one of nearly half a million women who contributed to Warren’s campaign with the hopes that she would become the Democratic Party’s nominee and the first female President. Now that she’s out of the race, those donors are frustrated with what the remaining candidates have to offer and have renewed questions about the ceiling for women in presidential politics. “I was surprised by how punched in the gut I felt on Tuesday,” Zikmund-Fisher says, recounting Warren’s losses in all 15 primary contests, including a third-place finish in her home state. “That’s just not good enough for the country. It’s 2020, and it’s not good enough.”

An odd condition on the left. People of color who don’t “win” are always victims of systemic racism and women are always victims of misogamy.

Zikmund-Fisher is affiliated with Bend the Arc-Jewish Action, a liberal Jewish alliance formed in 2011 between two groups: Jewish Funds for Justice and Progressive Jewish Alliance.

HOW WE RESIST AND WIN
Bend the Arc is a movement of tens of thousands of progressive Jews all across the country. For years, we’ve worked to build a more just society. Now we’re rising up in solidarity with everyone threatened by the Trump agenda to fight for the soul of our nation.

What really drives much of this is the media puffing candidates far more than they deserve; the ridiculous reactions to Hillary’s loss were spurred by the whole “inevitability” that was a complete fiction created by the media.

Some people point to the cancellation of the NYC fireworks before Election Day 2016 as a sign that Hillary’s campaign knew it was in trouble; I’d point to the last few days where Trump was campaigning in what should have been safe “Dem” states while she had to focus on the same (instead of venturing into Trump country/”real America”). The fact that she was in Pennsylvania right before the election indicates they - as well as her sycophant media, which couldn’t have missed it, knew she was in trouble.

“Social Worker” is a bit misleading.

Hillary was in trouble from the start because there was little to no “swing” with her; everybody knew her, and either loved her or hated her - and not enough people loved her.

Trump in a political sense WAS an unknown quantity; not enough people hated him, and enough were willing to take a chance on him.

Well, for starters -- stop campaigning with your genitals. Try coming up with a viable candidate who's not un-American and who holds political positions that moral, patriotic people can support.

/sarcasm but true

“It was like, what more does a woman have to do?” says Cynthia Craig, a 67-year-old retired Italian professor at Michigan State University.”

Ya have to be likable. Politics is a people person career. It’s pathetic that these women think a resume and a vagina entitles them to be president.

What more does a woman (running for president) have to do?

How about for starters, be a nice, genuine person who is not a total phony and doesn't shamelessly pander? Like how Hillary would put on a fake southern accent when campaigning down South. Or how Warren would promise to let some transgendered kid help pick her Cabinet for her?

Also, doesn't hurt to be feminine. Enough of these butch haircuts and ugly pantsuits. Put on a dress and grow your hair long ladies. Maybe then you won't come across to the men as a harpy, screechy mother in law from hell. The women running for president have been awful. They are not sending their best.

Finally, read up on Margaret Thatcher. That's the type of woman who can become president here.

The Leftist women who are in power are examples of what it could he like if one of their ilk won the presidency. Nancy Pelosi, abuse of power, Maxibe Waters, corrupt, the Roger Stone judge...Lois Lerner..and on and on. You name it, there are pink hatted angry wimmen out there, too many to count.

And if women don’t want her as a candidate should she be forced upon them (and men)?

These people are insufferable, every last one of them. It doesn’t matter anymore which Democrat loses in an election, even primary elections, the rank and file leftists just squawk about how unfair the process is, or how they are cheated out of victory, and white men are the real problem.

It looks like from her and her husband’s bio that that $2800 is easy for them to afford to lose. It’s amazing how stupid people with multiple degrees can be.

If I could toss $2800 away on campaign donations, I would not even give that much to Trump. I’d spread it across the board on him and select senate and house candidates.

I bet Naomi has been taken in on a scam investment scheme a time or two.
