French historians have demanded the return of Napoleon III in the wake of Brexit, whose remains lie in a tomb in Hampshire. The emperor, who was the final monarch to rule France before he died in exile in 1873, was laid to rest in a church in Farnborough. But historians in France are hoping to have his remains repatriated as part of a post-Brexit trade deal.

Huh???? The only reason the man was able to rise to power was because he was of his name. Bismarck ran rings around him.
They’re fighting over bones now?
Do to the French, like the Vietnamese did to us ... How much aree you willing to pay?
Demand the French pay back rent, then hand him over.
That’s what Europe was like before 1938, I suspe6it would go back to that behavior after the EU collapses. Probably with a more bloody period with all the muslims there.
Some one get me a shoe box!
The UK could offer to trade N-III for the British/Scottish monarchs buried in France.

So Brexit is dead and buried ???
A little editing ...
In the wake of Brexit, French historians have demanded the return of Napoleon III whose remains lie in a tomb in Hampshire.
So they were OK with the body being in the UK before the EU became a thing, and all during the UKs membership, and now they suddenly arent? Very strange, even for cheese-eating surrender monkeys.
Did they apologize for trying to steal Mexico* yet?
*most in the US think Cinco de Mayo is About Mexico getting independence from Spain, actually its a celebration of the Mexicans driving out the French when, counting on distraction by the Civil War, Napoleon III invaded Mexico and tried to enslave them under Maximillian.
“Huh???? The only reason the man was able to rise to power was because he was of his name.”
No, it took a lot more than that. If it was only his name that mattered, then he would not have lost in 1836 and 1840 only to bounce back and win control of the country. Napoleon III was as bold as Napoleon I (if not more so), but lacked the original Napoleon’s military expertise and political insight. Still, he was a great man in that he achieved what no one thought he could.
“Bismarck ran rings around him.”
Bismarck did that to everyone. And then Bismarck was ignominiously run out of politics by the upstart German Emperor Wilhelm II.
Fun fact: Rachel Félix, the most prominent and beautiful French actress of her day, not only had an affair with Napoleon III but with the illegitimate son of Napoleon I. Meanwhile Napoleon III had an affair with the wife of that illegitimate son!
“Russia didn’t get Marx, and you lot ain’t getting Napoleon III.”
Correct.
And Brexit has nothing to do with his remains. After all many of the British kings are buried in what is now France and they spoke mainly or only Gallo French
The tricky part is that kings like Richard the Lionheart were more French than Rnglish and they had substantial holdings in what is now France
Let them have the fool bones of the low IQ Emperor who did so much to make Germany great and wreck the world. He did little to remember.
Marx was German
Are you kidding? He hasn't had a decent meal in 137 years!
Also, no Internet.
