Saw a trifecta of doctors the past two days and a plethra of nurses and technician all aiming me to start chemo and radiation treatments next week on Wednesday.
First, the good news, Monday last PET Scan, says my oncologist, shows the cancer has not spread very far at all and "highly treatable." So my chemo and radiation treatment should only run 4 or 5 weeks he says.
He gave me several new meds including 2 for nausea. However, Carrie, the nurse that will be doing the actual chemo told me that they believed they had mostly got the nausea problem handled. Now, of course, everyone reacts differently, so I will cross my finger and toes while having those two 'no-vomit' pills very close at hand.
I will be seated in a lazy boy type chair for the chemo and using my brand new Bard Power Port they will take a couple of hours to pump in the chemo meds while I sit and re-read my W.E.B. Griffin Brotherhood-of-War novels-- I hope!
Carries says the chemo will lower my resistance, and with the possible coming of Coronavirus being around, I will be wearing a face mask to keep its germs at bay when ever I am out and about. She warned me to steer well clear of anyone sick or sickly looking--
My new heart monitor is a pain. It pings at odd times and I am constantly charging it and the accompanying cell phone that came along to send the data back. On my trip to the radiation folks, it appears I will have to take it off and put it back on some five times a week because of the radiation treatments while I ride the rails of their confounded radioactive dispensing machine. I then went back to my cardiologist and gave the nurse that fitted me with the monitor the news I'd need many, many of the little thingies that mold the monitor to my more than manly chest for the coming five weeks or so. She gave me a dozen and said to come back for more when I needed them.
Prayers up.
Hang in there, fellow cancer brother. I wish I had similar hopeful news to report on my end, but I’m afraid I don’t.
If I had to guess, I’d say I’m past the event horizon now.
Best of luck to you. I hope you kick the crap out of cancer.
I’m glad to hear that your cancer is highly treatable. You’re going through a rough period, but you’ll be up and running soon! Best wishes.
Godspeed brother!
Best of luck.
Sounds like you have all of the cutting edge treatments and a great nurse a lot of prayers.
Thanks for the update Danny.
Continued prayers for your successful treatment and complete healing.

Praying for you, Windflier...
I don’t know how much treatments have changed in the past nine years, but the nurses used to give us intravenous Benadryl along with the chemo. It makes you drowsy. Expect to fall asleep in the recliner with the book in your lap. :-)
Praying for you and everyone here fighting this monster...
Father in Heaven, please grant Bender2 a stress free treatment experience, protect Bender from side effects of treatment and secondary infections. I pray that you guard Bender from the fear of the unknown so common to us all. I pray that you bless Bender and Greg Allen and help them perceive your presence as they work through this. I ask these things in Jesus’name, Amen.
I am praying that your upcoming treatment is effective, Bender2, and that you have complete healing. May the Lord apply His healing hand to you.
God Bless You Bender2. I’ll be praying for you every day. I’m good at praying. My youngest son, now 49, had surgery for cancerous polyps last March, and finished his chemo in November. He’s now dealing with neuropathy pain in his hands and feet. It’s a side-effect of the chemo, and they’ve told him it may never go away. He underwent catheterization of the heart on Tuesday, but they found nothing, no blockages that could explain the periodic spiking of his blood pressure, and heart palpitations. He’s had a heart murmur his whole life. He also told me that his oncologist found a spot on his adrenal gland in his last scan, and we are now waiting for her to see him regarding that.
Dear Father in heaven,
Please bless Bender2 with strength, comfort, and healing in body, mind, and spirit. Send your angels to guard and protect him. Please minimize the ordeal and aggravation of the medical treatment. Keep him in good spirits.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Hang in there, Bender2! Stay sassy.
Prayers up that the glory of God me manifested through the complete healing of Bender2!
Prayers up and continuing for your speedy recovery.
You literally have the Army behind you.
The prayers are going to keep going out.
We are with you FRiend!
Prayers for continuing good news and HOPE!
