Scientists say that meteors hit earth 17 times a day. However, we don't even notice because these meteors are either too small or hit in uninhabited areas in the world.
The reason that damages are unlikely and almost never occur from these daily impacts is that most of the world is uninhabited and no one is near the impact location to experience or report the impact and its location.
However, the impacts that are recorded are often added to a list for scientists and enthusiasts to study. For example, a website called asteroid collision location map is a source that shows all decently sized asteroid collisions in our generation or time, not including ones that occurred thousands of years ago. This information is extremely helpful and fascinating to look at. Furthermore, if scientists have a list of collision locations and their time of impacts to study, they are also able to predict how many asteroids hit earth each day. This is likely how scientists are able to come up with the number 17, which is how many times an asteroid hits earth every single day.
tell that to the dinosaurs
I heard on the radio today that something big has a 1 in 3 chance of hitting us in 2029. A huge killer. I have not looked into it at all yet.
METEORITES CANT HIT THE EARTH UNLESS THEY BOUNCE THE ON THE INITIAL IMPACT!
[[is that most of the world is uninhabited]]
Can’t be true- we’re told the world is wayyyy overpopulated- (Which of course is nonsense- we’re not anywhere near close to being overpopulated- The world’s total population could fit in the state of Texas- cramped, but they could all fit- perhaps not live- but you get the picture- 7 billion wounds like a lot of folks, but it isn’t- not compared to how huge this planet is- the ‘overpopulated’ crowd argues that most of the world in ‘uninhabitable’ which is another nonsense lie- We haven’t even begun scratching the areas that could be inhabited yet-
Anyways- you would think that meteorites would hit some folks from time to time- they can’t all land in uninhabited areas
I have a 1 in 3 chance of something hitting me every day - an ex that’s put on some weight.
Apophis.
NEVER was one in three.
Was one in sixty before they realized that they were way off and the possibility is Very Very Remote.
Maybe next time :)

Yet another example of “size matters.”
That is a lot better than my chances of the wife being mad at me. That’s 10 chances out of one. (No I did not write this backwards)
Where is the media now? 17 hits a day? This is a relatively new phenomenon that began about 4.8 Billion years ago. Did anyone ever see the movie “When Worlds Collide?” The horror. Perhaps the Guv is building a giant spaceship to carry us to “Zyra”. We are all going to die! //SARC//
*ping*
Thanks for the ping. I wonder who writes such garbage?
When the universe simply hates you.
