Megan Youngren will become the first openly transgender female athlete to compete at the United States Olympic marathon trials.
The 29-year-old will make history on February 29 in Atlanta, where she will compete against 63 women for a spot on the Olympic team to compete at the Summer Games in Tokyo later this year.
Youngren began her transition from a male to a female when she was a college student in 2011, according to Sports Illustrated. She also started taking hormone medication that year, and in 2012, she came out publicly as transgender.
She officially finalized her transition last year, submitting the necessary paperwork.

No, I don't think they were the only ones. I think the Red Sox under Alex Cora were doing the same thing (and I think MLB will do NOTHING about it). But the Astros' 2017 title is now forever tainted. I'm just not jazzed about watching them this year.

No. Every single contestant should beat the living crap out of this mentally disturbed young man, and then go on with the race.
I'm waiting for the tranny in figure skating. I don't think a woman has completed a quad, whereas several men have. In fact, in the Men's category it is almost a necessity if you want to stand on the podium.
So, now all medals will be awarded to men, sane men and men with mental health issues.
I believe that men also have a larger lung capacity, which would also be an advantage in sports.

If a biological male beats out a woman for the Olympic team, or beats a woman for a medal, then the whole women’s team ought to boycott.
That's what the Style Book tells them to do, deviate from the Style Book and you get fired.
