Sunspot activity on the surface of the Sun follows a well-known but little understood 11 year cycle. Activity rises and falls creating the so-called solar maximum and then solar minimum. During a solar maximum, the Sun is more powerful and is littered with sunspots.
Conversely when the Sun enters a solar minimum which it did about two years ago - energy from our host star begins to lessen.
However, one expert has warned that the Sun will enter a period of hibernation this year, in what as known as a Grand Solar Minimum (GSM).
**SNIP**
The reduction in temperature will result in cold weathers on Earth, wet and cold summers, cold and wet winters.
We will possibly get big frosts as is happening now in Canada where they see [temperatures] of -50C.
NASA warns of MONSTER solar flares which could hit in FEW YEARS'
Space weather: NASA predicts next solar maximum will peak on THIS date But this is only the start of GSM, there is more to come in the next 33 years.
The last GSM, which comes around roughly every 400 years, came in the 17th century.
Research produced by NASA indicated during this last prolonged solar minimum the cooling temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere were indeed exacerbated by that Maunder minimum.
In 2006, NASA said: From 1650 to 1710, temperatures across much of the Northern Hemisphere plunged when the Sun entered a quiet phase now called the Maunder Minimum.

Nothing gets past me.
My mind is like a steel tarp.
:-D
Well done, add to that many other factors coming at one time. Such as a weakening and changing magnetosphere, increased volcanic activity, wobble in the Sun’s barycenter, etc.
Predictions are still plus or minus 1000 years or 10,000 years. Maybe over a thousand years we should consider where we live, more north or more south.
The next 100 years is pure speculation, pessimism, optimism.
But the next 1000 years we should be migrating or conquering Mexico, as we have already done twice in the past. The third time, let us just remain there.
“”with rising sea levels””
I’m not convinced rising sea levels have anything to do with so called global warming. The Mississippi River dumps between 200 to 300 million ton’s of sediment into the Gulf of Mexico every year, It’s one of 120+ major rivers in the world. I’ve seen studies that as much as 50 ton’s of solar dust is deposited daily on land and sea. When you displace that much water there’s only one place for it to go.
I disagree, we have to feed beans to cows to increase farting to which will increase methane.
Also when we make tinfoil hats the head has to wrapped no less than 3 times or the Xenu aliens will control our minds and make us drive more SUVs.
Hysteria is a problem for sure, because there are always opportunists who will take advantage of it. But real historical fact that there is indeed a very regular on time cycle cannot be dismissed in the long term. Might not be tomorrow, but it is indeed coming soon.
“So does this mean we should actually be increasing our carbon emissions?”
Actually... in reality... If anything it has delayed what is to come.
Sunspots in the left column.
2019 total: 281 days (77%) had no sunspots.
When is it gonna click in?
There is massive evidence that the earth is now warming at a rapid pace. Hopefully, this solar minimum could stop it or slow it down.
The sun isnt cooperating with the climate change fear mongers.
Almost prophetic.
One of my kids works at NASA. He used to work on a solar observatory mission. He told me two years ago they were looking at a GSM
I am 99% certain we will start to have food problems because of cold in the next 20 years, and we will be in a mini-ice age within a 100 years ahead of the full iceage that is coming after that.
we have been talking about this for a couple years now, it is not unexpected unless you are a global warming religious fanatic.
“There is massive evidence that the earth is now warming at a rapid pace.”
Hopefully sarcasm? This is all fake science and it depends on which side of the globe they are standing on when they read the temps. It is easy to average higher temps when the lower temps are completely excluded from the data set altogether.
I read this book when it was published, when sunspots were at their peak, but he nailed it then, and here we are!

Ice age? Are we back to that? They were trying to scare the hell out of us back in the early 60’s with the ice age thing. So does this mean we need to produce more aerosol cans? Do we need more cows? What exhaust fumes? Just tell us and we’ll do it.
The sea level stuff doesn’t hold merit with me. Within the last month a town a couple miles north of us was in the news because of tidal flooding from “rising seas”. The coastal town always had tidal flooding, at least for the last 50 years that I’ve seen. And the level of the ocean on the jetties and inlet wall is right about where it’s always been. So as far as I’m concerned someone is pulling some legs...
