Sunspot activity on the surface of the Sun follows a well-known but little understood 11 year cycle. Activity rises and falls creating the so-called solar maximum and then solar minimum. During a solar maximum, the Sun is more powerful and is littered with sunspots.
Conversely when the Sun enters a solar minimum which it did about two years ago - energy from our host star begins to lessen.
However, one expert has warned that the Sun will enter a period of hibernation this year, in what as known as a Grand Solar Minimum (GSM).
**SNIP**
The reduction in temperature will result in cold weathers on Earth, wet and cold summers, cold and wet winters.
We will possibly get big frosts as is happening now in Canada where they see [temperatures] of -50C.
NASA warns of MONSTER solar flares which could hit in FEW YEARS'
Space weather: NASA predicts next solar maximum will peak on THIS date But this is only the start of GSM, there is more to come in the next 33 years.
The last GSM, which comes around roughly every 400 years, came in the 17th century.
Research produced by NASA indicated during this last prolonged solar minimum the cooling temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere were indeed exacerbated by that Maunder minimum.
In 2006, NASA said: From 1650 to 1710, temperatures across much of the Northern Hemisphere plunged when the Sun entered a quiet phase now called the Maunder Minimum.

Global warming is a lie propagated by globalist who seek to control all facets of life and commerce and the ignorant fools who parrot their lies with little to no understanding of science.
The sun is the primary driver of our climate as expressed by temperature. Period.
The sun has continual cycles in energy transmission to the surface of this ball we all live on. It always has and it always will. Ironically, this ball we live on responds to these cycles and life continues.
Ask yourself what would happen if the average temperatures where you live were 5 degrees warmer? Answer - not much and there would even be many benefits. They only project a 1-2 degree F rise in temps for the next 50-100 years!
The only thing we can be certain of is that the average temperature will continue to fluctuate up and down over the next century and millennia. Just as it has for the last century and millennia. The earth adapts. Humanity adapts. Life continues.
Hardly a reason to tax and control all of us!
This has been obvious for about 2 years. I bought a second home in a warmer area for winter quarters about a year and a half ago. I’m here and everyone is griping about how cold it is, heh.
Luckily I’m used to much colder weather.
In the olden days of the 1960s and 1970s when the COMING ICE AGE was the rage, there was a plan to mine coal, spread the dust on the glaciers and counteract the Coming Ice Age!

Earlier this year, US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the British Geological Survey (BGS) were forced to update the World Magnetic Model a year ahead of schedule due to the speed with which the magnetic north pole is shifting out of the Canadian Arctic and toward Russias Siberia.
Deep solar minimum on the verge of an historic milestone

Solar minimum is a normal part of the 11-year sunspot cycle, but the last one and the current one have been far deeper than most. One of the consequences of a solar minimum is a reduction of solar storms and another is the intensification of cosmic rays. The just ended solar cycle 24 turned out to be one of the weakest in more than a century continuing a weakening trend that began in the 1980s and, if the latest forecasts are correct, the next solar cycle will be the weakest in more than 200 years.
One of the natural impacts of decreasing solar activity is the weakening of the ambient solar wind and its magnetic field which, in turn, allows more and more cosmic rays to penetrate the solar system. Galactic cosmic rays are high-energy particles originating from outside the solar system that can impact the Earths atmosphere. Our first line of defense from cosmic rays comes from the sun as its magnetic field and the solar wind combine to create a shield that fends off cosmic rays attempting to enter the solar system. The shielding action of the sun is strongest during solar maximum and weakest during solar minimum with the weakening magnetic field and solar wind. The intensity of cosmic rays varies globally by about 15% over a solar cycle because of changes in the strength of the solar wind, which carries a weak magnetic field into the heliosphere, partially shielding Earth from low-energy galactic charged particles.

A scientific paper entitled An Overview of Scientific Debate of Global Warming and Climate Change has recently come out of the University of Karachi, Pakistan. The papers author, Prof. Shamshad Akhtar delves into earths natural temperature variations of the past 1000 years, and concludes that any modern warming trend has been hijacked by political & environmental agendas, and that the science (tackled below) has been long-ignored and at times deliberately manipulated.
... Pro human induced global warming scientists exaggerate the contribution of carbon dioxide as a major greenhouse gas in absorbing long wave earths radiation. The fact is water vapor is the single largest atmospheric greenhouse gas (2% by volume), Carbon dioxide is second (0.0385% by volume).
Water vapor contributes 95% to the greenhouse effect, all other greenhouse gases combined contribute only 5%. Furthermore, the man-made portion of carbon dioxide contributes only 0.117% to the greenhouse effect.
The IPCC does not consider water vapor a greenhouse gas in its reports.
In addition, water vapor absorbs in a much wider band of long wave radiation (4-8 micrometer and 12-70 micrometer bands), whereas Carbon dioxide absorbs in narrow bands (13-16 micrometer) and ozone absorbs in a much smaller narrow band (9-10 micrometer). Thus, water vapor absorbs in a much wider wave length band, it has the single largest greenhouse effect among all the greenhouse gases.
Already knew this. Sorry, Greta, humans are NOT in charge of the universe.
We shpuld be preparing for food shortages and storing.
Already knew this. Sorry, Greta, humans are NOT in charge of the universe.
We shpuld be preparing for food shortages and storing extra.
Up here in the northeast we are having our usual winter thaw. Usually comes in February, sometimes comes in January, but it is a week or 10 days of temps in the 40s during the day.
This has been a feature since forever.
Now however it is an opportunity to moan about global warming.
fools!
Wow... ANOTHER Ice Age.... just like the one “they” predicted back in the 1970s, you know, the one we had in the 1970s, and...
Oh... wait...
Never mind.
During the last little ice ages there were plagues (bubonic and black plague). I wonder if there is a relation between the two. Virus love cold weather.
Unlike global “warming” this has some strong evidence in what actually causes heating and cooling...our sun.
That was part of the Russian’s premise, I believe, that, the Earth’s wobble, and a slight variation of the Earth’s orbit - all coming together.
About what will be the degree temperature change in this “mini ice age”???
4-5 degrees colder???
I live south of Pittsburgh,PA. and it hit 62 degrees here today. I love it!
Yep. The earth is going to freeze and fry at the same time. The equatorial hordes won’t know which way to stampede.
I don’t know about her duration calc, but she is right on about us going into a longer cold spell because of decreased sun/sunspot activity. All the other models that never work at any prediction, don’t include the sun in the mix.
Who was that? oh yeah, marie antoinette..let them eat snow..
I don’t think anyone knows or can predict actual numbers. The topic and tragically, the science, has been hopelessly politicized by those who seek to control us.
I have never been worried about it after I woke up to the hypocrisy of it all in the early 90’s. My house is 70 degrees. My car when I travel is 70 degrees. My office is 70 degrees. When I am outside I have effective clothing for both cold and warm conditions.
There are millions of acres of potential farmland that are too cold to use under present climate conditions (i.e. - Canada, Greenland, Siberia, etc). Modern agriculture can feed the world with a mere fraction of the land of the U.S. That is a fact.
Humanity will likely not notice a change of a few degrees one way or another in the next hundred years and flip a coin as to warmer or colder - we simply do not know nor should we really be concerned about it.
There has never been a time in human history, thanks to energy, technology, and global commerce where we have been more capable of dealing with “climate change” of any kind as citizens of Earth. All the hysteria is just that, hysteria. I am 100% confident that we will be fine.
The greatest threat to humanity is not my SUV, it is those in charge of humanity just as it has been throughout human history.
I have been on this paleoclimatology thing for about 10 years now, and there are a whole bunch of factors coming together at on time. and it has happened about every 24k years as a regular cycle. Note the CO2 and solar insolation in that graph, CO2 was actually higher during past interglatials.
The solar insolation actually started to drop about 8k ago, and we are just now catching up. Along with the Milankovitch cycles, the sun’s barycenter, our orbit around the sun, earth’s magnetosphere cycles, Etc. all these influences are finally all coming together again at one time. As it has many many times before as a regular cycle.
Basically, the growing season is what I was more concerned about...
