That was part of the Russian’s premise, I believe, that, the Earth’s wobble, and a slight variation of the Earth’s orbit - all coming together.
I have been on this paleoclimatology thing for about 10 years now, and there are a whole bunch of factors coming together at on time. and it has happened about every 24k years as a regular cycle. Note the CO2 and solar insolation in that graph, CO2 was actually higher during past interglatials.
The solar insolation actually started to drop about 8k ago, and we are just now catching up. Along with the Milankovitch cycles, the sun’s barycenter, our orbit around the sun, earth’s magnetosphere cycles, Etc. all these influences are finally all coming together again at one time. As it has many many times before as a regular cycle.
