Help the USPO get rid of the lazy delivery PERSONS.
Only use UPS or FEDEX.
Thats what I do.
The USPO persons are a bunch of lazy government employees that think we the public owe them.

In my area people just build a wooden box raised off the ground and clearly mark it Packages... Simple solution for postal, UPS and FedEx...

Go pick up the package at the Post Office. I don’t blame the Post Office. I would not have my guys trounce through mud and woods just to bring you a package.

Neither rain nor snow nor ... ah screw it, we're not coming.

Seriously though, try looking up "large mail receptacle" on amazon. Plenty of choices designed specifically to hold packages.

If you have a disability you could qualify for the USPS hardship delivery program.

Perhaps this will help

If you build your own mailbox or buy a custom-made one, it must meet the PMG standards. Show your local postmaster your mailbox plans or your custom-made box for approval.

I replaced my regular size mailbox with one of these a couple of years ago and our mailman loves it. He wrote THANK YOU!!! in big red marker on the first package he delivered into it! :-)

I think it’s the jumbo size and the cost is around $40 - $45 on Amazon but I think I’ve seen them for less at, maybe, Lowe’s?

Hope this helps!

Had similar rural delivery problems. With Amazon and others the post office is having to fill gaps it was not used to doing.

Talked to the post master at my local PO and asked what I could do to make easier for them and myself. They were very helpful... better than trying to communicate with Amazon

Postal regulations require an approved box and key type for delivery.
US Mail is protected unlike UPS, FedEx etc.

Getting Amazon to stop delivering thru Post Office doesn’t seem to work.

I even typed “Do not mail USPS to this address” then listed my address in the same line and Amazon and others just ship it and don’t care about the difference between mailing and delivery addresses

Approved US Postal boxes can be a bit pricey but getting a single box is not bad. I had to have a place they could pull off the road safely and was already on their route.

Amazon, UPS etc usually can’t share same box if keyed for post office

I have also made friends with my regular mail carrier (and her substitutes).., cookies, dark chocolate covered almonds ha, ha. ..and have better service because of that too.

Have found all of the people there to be good folks.

Often, you can find the old "Postal Relay Boxes" at a decent price, and get a copy key made for the local carrier, using a magnetic holder under the box's bottom, and you have the main key.

Everybody has a boss. Find out which “hub” they answer to and make a call. I’ve done it and it works. Mail delivery is a service that you pay for. They aren’t allowed to make receiving mail difficult.

You can construct a box large enough to hold the packages you're likely to get.

When you're expecting a package, leave an open lock on the latch.

Leave a note for the MM on the box. "Put the package in box and lock the box".

I go for the PO Box. You don’t have to go every day. Only send packages there. You can still get your regular mail to your home box.

They will text you when a package shows up. Go at your liesure.
