The bs is that it’s harmful to no smokers.
Just like the bs in the article claiming obesity and diabetes is harmful to those without it.
H. Pylori was linked directly to ulcers back in the mid 70s although doctors ignored it because it was a microbiologist rather than an MD who found the links. It was finally validated only a few years back. The idea that it causes obesity, heart disease and diabetes and is communicable makes no sense. tendencies to obesity, heart disease and diabetes are genetically linked but not communicable as an infection. Many people carry H. Pylori but it is balanced by other bacteria in their systems. Type II diabetes has several forms. Some forms can be turned back through diet and exercise alone, some by the addition of medication, and some forms require ongoing combinations of all of the above. I’m H. Pylori negative but still have Type II, insulin resistance. My problem is metabolic and requires an ongoing regimen to keep it controlled. When I was first diagnosed, diet and exercise worked, it slowly progressed to adding medication and altering diet. I am not obese but it’s still there.
This “study” appears to be BS, scare tactics.

Have you considered that it can run in families because eating habits can also run in families?

This happens with a number of organs, liver, kidneys, gall bladder, heart basically all organs. People who have "lifestyle" health problems just have organs that are damaged to the point they break under the load.
Many of them never know they have the problem and if they cultivate healthy habits they may never know.
A dear friend of mine was a healthy sort of person, if we went out to eat he would have the broiled fish, steamed veggies, salad with no dressing and water. He walked every day. And then he got cancer. Yeah, life is not fair. They told him to change his diet to high calorie food because of the cancer treatments. He listened to his doctor and one evening he collapsed. They rushed him to the ER and found that his blood was so full of sugar that he had syrup in his veins.
Whither it was the cancer, the treatment or if he was already predisposed is up for debate. Weakened organs.
You know, after reading more about the inflammatory Omega 6s in Olive oil, no matter what pressing, I have cut it out. Only animal fat now.

I just bought two bottles of high end olive oil. I looked up the omega 6 content. significant.
I have arthritis. so I am always looking to cut that back.
Its the natural saurkraut. K2 known to correct calcification.
There is a theory that one’s gut flora crave sugars and carbs which influences the diet, ie someone will have a really hard time cutting out carbohydrates because their gut bacteria thrive on it, causing cravings.
I have heard that it can be transmitted over beer glasses..
