Obesity, heart disease, and diabetes may be communicable
medicalexpress ^ | 01/17/2020

The authors base their hypothesis on connections between three distinct lines of evidence. First, they demonstrate that people with a wide range of conditions, from obesity and inflammatory bowel disease to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, have altered microbiomes. Next, they show that altered microbiomes, when taken from diseased people and put into animal models, cause disease. Finally, they provide evidence that the microbiome is naturally transmissible, for example: Spouses who share a house have more similar microbiomes than twins who live separately.

This article is bizarre and there seems to be more to it than what is written. It may give reason a gov could eliminate or isolate people that so far ave been deemed safe with non communicable illness. Scary stuff to me.

This is really fascinating...thanks for posting it.

I had Helicobactor Pylori (H. Pylori) in my gut for years, maybe decades. After a lot of my own research, I insisted my doc test for it a couple years ago and the results were positive. During my research, I found that it was common for multiple family members to have it. The transmission causes were (not surprisingly) “bad environmental hygienic conditions and close intra-familial relationships.”

I suppose any gut biome would transmit the same way.

Diabetes is definitely inherited.

THAT makes sense, your situation.

Becoming a fat #...., er, I’m on the brink at FR for my language...becoming an overweight person like myself stemmed from pizzas and burgers and chicken parm heroes being communicable to my mouth.

I believe the obesity part is nonsense.

“Diabetes is definitely inherited.”

Type one maybe, but certainly not type 2.

What you want to do is steal some of Tom Brady's poo for its rich biom. Then inject it up your butt with a turkey baster so you absorb Tom's biom.

No, not clickbait. The source is a widely read and trusted site for medical related issues. That’s not today a political agenda may not creep in on occasion but on a normal basis it is a good site for printing the latest research.

Type two runs in my dad’s side of the family.
When I was diagnosed, my doctor asked if either of my parents had the same.

Fortunately, Metformin has kept my blood sugar in check...

This is not about inheritance of disease rather it is about a family member or close person catching a disease that is seen as non communicable such as an inflammatory disease—Rheumatoid arthritis , IBD, etc. The way I read it almost any abnormal situation may become a part of a family members biom.

“communicable to your mouth” - LOL. Yes, that is definitely a path of transmission, no doubt about it.

Type 2 is curable. Read DR. Jason Fungs book on it and get off the meds.

“more to it”

This is just a precursor to taxing people for being fat or eating sugary stuff.

They need to set the bs “if it harms others” argument that they use to justify tobacco regulation and taxes.

I am not sure that the article or the scientists and doctors it is reporting on are not on the right track. It is reminiscent of the research that eventually proved the most common cause of stomach ulcers was a bacteria and not a stressful lifestyle. Marshall and Robin Warren, the two Australian researchers who discovered the bacterium Helicobacter pylori were responsible for 90% of peptic ulcers were ridiculed for years and their findings were ignored even after their research was independently verified by multiple studies.

Your gut microbiome is incredibly complex and one of the least understood yet most important aspects of human health. There are bound to be some profound surprises found as its role in common health conditions are unraveled.

Everything I Love Is Killing Me
(Harvey Allen/Carson Chamberlain)

Coffee keeps me up and I can’t sleep
And when I drink too much then I can’t eat
Losing you has led me to believe
Everything I love is killing me

Everything I love is killing me
Cigarettes, Jack Daniels and caffeine
And that’s the way you’re turning out to be
Everything I love, gonna have to give up
‘Cause everything I love is killing me

I guess I made a big mistake
Thinkin’ you’re a habit I can break
Well, I’m addicted to you now I see
Everything I love is killing me

Everything I love is killing me
Cigarettes, Jack Daniels and caffeine
And that’s the way you’re turning out to be
Everything I love, gonna have to give up
‘Cause everything I love is killing me
Everything I love, gonna have to give up
‘Cause everything I love is killing me
