Real Snowflake Territory: Time Advises Parents on Talking to Their Kids About Iran

Time magazine is trying to put out the fires of hysteria generated by the death of U.S.-designated Iranian terrorist Qassem Soleimani. Apparently the death of the brutal military leader weighs heavy, especially on the consciences of America’s children, so Time produced a guide for parents who need to talk to their kids about it.

The piece, “How To Talk To Your Kids About the Situation With Iran,” is the latest farce in the media’s job of acting like the current Iran situation is messier than it is, all because Donald Trump is in charge.

They say its a guide for “kids,” but realistically, the only reason the kids are going to be stressed about this is because they’re watching grown-ups — especially the ones in suits on TV — lose their minds over the fact that a terrorist was dealt with the way he should’ve been.

And to think, the media’s least favorite president did this?! Talk to your kids, please, before the trauma sets in.

The piece began with obvious gaslighting on just how messy and complicated dealing with the “death to America” chanters is: “The action comes after increased tensions between the U.S. and Iran, and has fueled anxiety about what might happen as a result.” Let’s add the reality of a mainstream media that appears a bit too sympathetic to Iran, constantly spewing garbage, to the overall context here.

“We realize this is a difficult topic to explain to kids,” Time added, telling readers to “trust their instincts” when it comes to talking to their children about it. But as we all know, that just means telling little Johnny that this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for President Donald J. Trump.

Time’s guidebook put the onus of the current geopolitical crisis on the president, saying, “President Donald Trump has called Soleimani a terrorist” and that “Trump says Soleimani ordered attacks on American military and diplomats.” But, yeah, let us gloss over the fact that both the State Department and Treasury Department designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (of which Soleimani was a leader) a terrorist organization.

Yeah, Time can’t explain this story without pushing the conspiracy that Trump is a megalomaniacal warlord and that everyone of military capacity has been allowing him to commit war crimes.

The article stated, “U.S. military leaders gave Trump several choices for how to respond to Iran’s actions. Killing Soleimani was considered the most extreme. Some top U.S. military and government officials have expressed surprise and concern about Trump’s decision. But the President insists it was in America’s best interest.” That madman.

Oh, but, please, the magazine instructs, tell your kids that Barack Obama’s “Iran Nuclear Deal” was the pinnacle in world peace brokerage. Remind your kids that “tensions increased” when Trump canceled Barack’s deal. The president’s move has “has hurt Iran’s economy.”

To be fair, Time was honest enough to refrain from speculating wildly about war, but did cite the advice of psychologist Paul Coleman should kids needs reassurance. He advised that parents should “search for hidden questions or fears” that kids might be quiet about, “keep routines going,” let them “feel feelings,” and try to “assure them of their safety.” The final step would be for parents to stop lying and just admit to the doctor that they’re the ones afraid.

Here's what you do:

A) Sit, crouch or kneel down with them at their eye level

B) Look them straight into the eyes

C) Smile warmly

D) Give them a high five and say, "Winning!"

Wow. In the 1950s-1960s, when we were trained to get under our little desks with our butts to the windows, it didn’t ‘weigh heavily’. We just took it in stride and did it.

We understood that there was bad stuff in the world, and that we had to learn to deal with it. Fortunately, we had parents who could teach and support us in growing into that knowledge - parents who weren’t wimps.

"He was an evil man who killed many great American military people. We finally killed him. We solved the problem the only way possible. Any questions, Johnny and Janie?"

First, you’d have to orientate every parent to where on the map that Iran exists (probably more than 90-percent of Americans could not place it on a world map).

Second, you’d have to start off and ask the question...what was Soleimani’s job in life for the past twenty years has been....mostly to kill people and harm western society.

Then you come to explaining to a 8-year old kid why everyone in the world is anti-nuke power...except for Iran. The kid will respond...asking if this has anything to do with Cartman on Southpark, or crazy school-bus drivers.

There are about five kids out there who are Kellogg’s Frosted TriggerFlakes, and all of them are in Kalifornia. The rest are playing games on their Playstation 25’s or whatever they are, and otherwise vegetating in front of Hulu and Netflix. They probably think an Iranian is that thing on the wall that the big boys pee in at Walmart. In earlier, more primordial times, a writer for Time would be someone to be loathed and beaten about the head and shoulders with a rolling pin. Now, they’re pitiful, underachieving creatures needing intense psychiatric and career counseling and a good therapy animal. Or a stuffed Teddy bear.

We had regular air raid drills in the mid 50 (I was 12) s...and it wasn't unusual for tanks to go rumbling down the streets from armory to armory.

But our parents let us be kids...and war was not discussed.

No kidding, I remember ducking under our desks at school in case the Commie Soviets bombed us. My Dad, a WWII combat vet, was calm about the whole situation which meant my brother and I didn't grow up in great fear.

Well kiddos, first of all, there was Jimmuh Carter, the formerly worst president evah. He's been superseded by Barack Obama. Both had left a horrible legacy with Iran (who have shouted ‘Death to America’ for 40 years now).

When Obama was still president I asked some random libs why they were okay with nuclear energy for Iran and they said “Because of the danger posed by Israel”.

Scratch a Leftist find an antisemite. And the issue is never the issue.

Just so...in addition, our elementary school had a tall pole with the Civil Defense Warning sirens at the edge of the playing field. Man those things were LOUD, volume must have been set to 15. And they were joined by other sirens in adjacent areas during the drills. Real War of the Worlds stuff.

But we had all heard that sound in all the war movies at theaters and on TV so it was anything new, not even the first graders got upset. Imagine today’s kids faced with that noise. Wouldn’t be enough drugs or stress counselors to go around.

We were also a designated CD bomb shelter. Every day we passed those mysterious doors with the CD signs leading to the basement. No big deal, though we did sometimes indulge in fantastic speculation about what was down there.

I spent my youth hiding underneath a plywood desk during Nuclear Attack Drills in Elementary School.

I don’t recall my Parents being instructed by the Media on what they should be telling my brother and I about the Soviets.
