As we head into a 2020 offseason in which about 70% of the NFLs players are black, and the NFL itself is celebrating a 100th anniversary that is filled with all kinds of racial inequality, the current state of black head coaching candidates, and other candidates of color, should be a much bigger concern than it is. How did we get here, and why does the NFL fail to find a solution to what seems to be a simple problem of excellence and equality?

Yeah...always defining problems based on pigmentation. People with a lot of pigmentation always need help from liberals. Disgusting.
Most idiotic article regarding the NFL ever....
Coaching is an art and takes patience, perseverance, constant study, constant dedication, and thousands of hours of exhausting work. The press have no idea what it takes.
Certain people will naturally be better at it than others. That’s life - deal with it snowflake!
You will never be able to Affirmative Action a good coach unless you rig the entire league.
Seems like that is what the lazy ass press wants.
good definition of coaching. I would add must be a psychologist, minister and parent.
“I would add must be a psychologist, minister and parent”
Absolutely! These folks are clueless as to how mentally, emotionally, and scientifically involved the position requires.
I’ll read this after the article about How the NFL and NCAA regularly Screws over white running backs, wide receivers and dbacks. Not one team in the NFL is even 40 percent white. That is really absurdly out of whack and clear racial faboritism and bias going on.
Exactly!
Not one majority white defense. Not one white cornerback in the entire league? Not even on a practice squad? One single starting white running back in the entire league? When a white wideout breaks out it is almost ALWAYS the case they were wlkons and or undrafted free agents. Nothing to see here.
Anyone else sick and tired of the “of color” designation? Grates on my nerves. I got a color too.
Thug Nation in costumes.
Its the same reason why former backup catchers make up a disproportionate number of baseball managers. Catchers know the game well, and the backups spend a lot of time on the bench just watching the game and discussing its intricacies with the manager and coaching staff.
Give me a flipping break!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These men, can stand up on their own hind legs, and coach! Either you’re a good coach, or you aren’t. Period. The NFL is one of THE MOST PC organizations around; and these media pukes expect us to believe that somehow the NFL is failing “people of color” or whatever?
What a load of crap!
“How the NFL continues to fail at letting whites play”
“Olympic 100 meters was Alan Wells of Scotland.
Thanks for the correction. The 1980 Olympics? Well, I guess that partially explains it.
True, especially in baseball, where the better managers seem to come from the journeyman player class, many of whom never even made it to major league ball.
:)
colin krappersink falls into that category...
It’s because the NFL is RACISSSS!
I don’t watch football anymore since ‘frizzy head’ started his crap; don’t watch NACAR anymore because my driver was killed;
I do, however, watch documentaries, I read a lot, and I crochet, quilt, knit, tat, needle lace, and bobbin lace...and listen to calming music...
I come to this site to find out what is happening, my daughter lets me know if I need to see something on T.V. that isn’t a lie...
I have lunch with friends, I visit with the people I worked with at Wal Mart...I really miss them, I hate the management but love most of the customers and the associates...down to earth people...
If I had the money, I would move to Lancaster, PA and live around the Amish people and have a little garden, birds singing and listen to the people there...
