I wondered what has gone on with him as well, especially this morning when he was hand wringing and doing the liberal OOOH killing Suleimani is bad routine.
He was so firm in his love of this nation and being hard line against those would do us harm 15-20 years ago. Listening to him today vs after 9/11 is really kind of heartbreaking.
I think it goes to show you that no matter what your character or beliefs may be “the bubble” eventually gets everyone and turns them into pod people.
Aside from that though his interviews have never been better and he’s the best person on the planet doing it today.

I will say this. His immature and profane shtick never appealed to me. How was he so popular? Are there that many 15 year old boys who found short penis skits funny?
Then there’s his blatant racism. When?? When will the entertainment crowd turn against him for that?

I found his humor and pranks to be juvenile and appealing to the lowest common denominator.
Being a popular radio host many people, including Trump, were disarmed and mistakenly agreed to be interviewed only to be torpedoed with gotcha and inappropriate off-color questions.
Conservatives should learn the lesson. Don't agree to be interviewed by anyone who asks you. It's likely the interviewer has an agenda and you're the target.
Don't interview with mainstream liberal media outlets. They're traps. They have no intention of treating you fairly.
People make the mistake such interviews will keep them in the public eye. They're right but often for the wrong reasons.
Conservatives should simply turn down most interviews with liberal media. Don't give your enemy ammunition to us against you.
Think of these interviews as the youtube video, "Never Talk to the Police". It's called entrapment.

Years ago, 10-25 years ago, it seems whenever I was in a taxi cab, he was on the radio. Haven been in a cab in years so don’t know if things have changed. He has though, from the bits I’ve seen of him being interviewed on TV lately.
Oh man, is he dull now. A typical hour will be him having an intern come in and say something like "I put a sandiwch in the fridge and it's gone. I know Tony took it." Then Tony says "why are you accusing me, your sandwiches are &*#@!" Then Howard will go through an inquisition of if the sandwiches really are &*@! (oh snap! They are terrible!) and if the other guy steals food out of the fridge (Double oh snap! He does but only good stuff!) so they bicker and Howard eggs them on. Then wash, rinse, repeat. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
