This opening sounds like an entry in the Bulwer-Lytton Bad Writing Contest.

If you’re really into butter and have the scratch, why not?
Myself, I made some ghee and just used some on my mashed potatoes. Yumm.

Is the Worlds Best Butter Worth 50 Dollars a Pound? The real question is if you whip up a batch of "boutique" butter, market it to an exclusive clientele with disposable income, and charge $50 a pound for it, will these people buy it?
Yes, they will.

I keep abreast of Land-O-Lakes.

No, but selling butter for $50 a pound lets you watch who buys it and know who the gullible and possibly outright stupid people are.

At $50 a pound, I expect it to be smeared on someone really beautiful.

I love Kerrygold or Pflueger butter
The flavors are distinct and way better than “Land-O-Fakes”
And I couldn’t care less what it cost...

You were on a dairy farm.
That wasn’t mud on your boots.

My attitude is, it’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
If someone has earned their money and they can afford it, then spend it on whatever they enjoy. If I was wealthy I might give it a shot. I’m not, so I won’t.
I know people that think I am nuts to spend money on my motorcycle. My BIL wants us to spend several thousand plus to go to a high end Mexican resort they rave about. I’d rather spend my discretionary recreational money on my bike.

If you can find some one who will pay that for it.
We sell Evangeline's for six dollars a pound to a half dozen customers. It pays her vet bills.

There is no such thing as $50/lb butter.
There are PEOPLE willing to pay $50 a pound for butter.
And please, dont spout off with an insouciant “price is what the market will bear”.
There is a difference.
Those that know that difference do winter weekends in St Barts.
Those that dont, do Saturdays shopping at Wally World.
