Google YouTube TV (Vanity/REVIEW)
12/27/2019 | R2

Posted on 12/27/2019 2:20:09 PM PST by Responsibility2nd

I live out in the country. My TV options suck. No cable and only Dish Network or DirecTV (AT&T). And my internet options sucked even bigger. Satellite service with maybe 25 mbps. Monthly costs were about $130.00. Each. Over $260.00 a month for low rate TV and internet.

But finally! My electric company finally got Fiber internet service available. Unlimited data with plans from 25 - 50 - 75 - 150 - 300 - even more mbps. So now I'm satellite free and ecstatic. I picked the 150 mbps plan at $80.00 per month.

But now, what about TV? There's no cable, but even I as a neophyte know that streaming is the only way to go. Even if cable was available - who needs it?

I knew that Sling TV was an option; but what else? I started my homework and did my research and found there are several good internet streaming options out there. But the best?

Google YouTube TV.

$49.00 per month. Including local channels, tons of sports channels, and most cable channels like TLC, HGTV, and etc.

Just Wow! I hope our moderators view this more as a review. I'm not shilling for Google, I'm just pointing out the positives.

In addition to Google YouTube TV, I have Roku on both TV’s. So I also have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and etc.

I hope DirectTV, Dish, Comcast Cable, Time Warner Cable et al dry up and die. For decades consumers demanded cafeteria style options. They refused. Now with HDTV streaming on internet options, we can finally pick and choose what we want at less than half the cost!

Not the free YT which has tons of free foreign movies but YT TV, the subscription live streaming service.

Kind of pricey. You can add live TV to your Hulu subscription and there is Philo, cheapest of the bunch.

Sony’s PlayVue is shuttering in January. Fubo which more sports oriented, is also worth a look.

I ditched Comcast for YouTube TV and my only regret is that I waited so long.

All the streaming services you want cost as much as cable so you can realistically support about four of them.

I picked up Disney + but I don’t know if the forthcoming HBO Max and the Peacock are worth it. And don’t forget Apple *.

I have only limited $$ to throw at streaming services.

YouTube TV with Fire TV stick.

I’m feeding the Google and Amazon devils but I’m saving a bunch of money.

If you already have a Hulu account, you can pick up the bundle. They’re all Disney owned.

Disney + has excellent customer service. They helped me pick up a free trial after I messed signing up for it.

It would cost $20,000 to get internet at my MIL house...waiting for something better, and DISH is ONLY option now.

Do you have any issues with data usage...i.e., does one need to have an “unlimited data” plan?
