You’re paying to watch the crap these companies are tossing out?
There’s a good amount of free options for TV viewing online - for one:
https://pluto.tv/live-tv/channel-lineup
If you got 20 bucks for an antenna and can get reception, you can also watch free broadcast tv.
Have to sign up with email for this one, but more free watching -
https://www.imdb.com/tv
Loads of free movies and TV (and other) here -
https://archive.org/details/feature_films
https://archive.org/details/television?and[]=mediatype%3A%22movies%22
Also imdb.tv is free
And PBS has programming on their website (the Ken Burns’ country music program was up for 30 days with each episode available for free following the tv debut).
I’m trying out Crackle right now but find that they run far more commercials than tubi and when I tab off the commercial, it pauses.
That is the main reason I don’t like Crackle, too many commercials, so I watch them rarely.
I see that you can mute them and the tv audio came back after they were done.
I’m watching the Snatch TV series (pilot) right now. I didn’t know about it. It’s not as good as the Lock Stock & “Two Smoking” tv series (7 episodes I think). That had tight plotting and a great soundtrack.
This is all set up with no payoff yet and I don’t care for the cast.
Cancel cable tv if you have it, have internet only. Get a Roku box $99 one time then add Sling tv for $25 a month https://www.sling.com/ where you get the cable channels plus more. Also get Pluto tv app for free https://pluto.tv/on-demand .
Add a long range tv antenna and get many free stations. See http://www/tvguide.com for the tv stations available in your area if any.
If you have Amazon Prime you get movies and tv shows and Netflix offers more. Save at least half of what you pay now and have many more shows to watch.
On IMDB tv my adblocker blocks the ads, don’t know about Crackle, tho.
But I don’t mind ads unless they’re too often and too long, I grew up watching TV with ads - so, not an issue for me. Gives a person a chance to grab a sandwich, hit the bathroom, check out something else, whatever.
I have Apollo TV which is $15/month. Lots of channels including UK, Germany, France, etc.... News channels include Fox and Fox Business but not OAN. Can subscribe by the month. Have to do a lot of selecting and clicking to get where you want but it allows me to watch news on my computer without going to the LR.
The only time I watch regular TV (in spite of the $254.93 per month cost) is when NASCAR is running...
Since:
I dropped Direct TV after 11 years. Put up an antenna and installed a Roku. I watch more antenna tv now then I ever did. Was a Fox News junkie, don’t even miss it. Watch Pluto to get a taste of having 150 channels with nothing on....except the Dean Martin roasts, IT Crowd and an occasional Bond movieSTIRR is like Pluto. If you want an over the air DVR, by a sling Air Tv for $59. No fees and have TV guide. Can’t record other channels, but again.you can record ABC,NBC, CBS, MeTV, Decades, etc. Give it a month, you won’t miss cable.
Does ROKU have a web browser?
No. It’s comprised of channel apps. You can install, Sling, Amazon Video, and other channels as well as search for movies, some free, some you pay for. Search for a program and suggested channels to see it on or download or pay for. Easy to use.
“Clear view of southern sky” is the problem
Your situation is dramatically different than mine, so I understand your preference in regards to these types of movies.

Tried that. I’m in the Hill Country and no to poor reception.

Yeah, best to live in the flatland to get reception. I get quite a few, probably 20-30 channels by air, but I’m in the burb of a metro area with not much in the way of obstruction.
Less than an hour ago I cancelled Dish Network. Currently we have:
Roku
Netflix ($14 per month?)
Hulu (just got it @ $1.99 per mo for 1 year)
Disney+ (just got it free for 1 year)
Antenna (neighbor just gave me one)
Might add:
Philo
OTA DVR
