I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
RIP!
Crap - gonna miss him.
Hope he is relishing being whole and healthy and in Heaven with his Maker and that the Lord pours out peace upon his wife and loved ones.
RIP!
2ndDivisionVet was a great man. I never got to meet him in person, but some day I expect to meet him in Heaven. God bless his eternal soul.
He was one of the most famous, awesome posters at FR. The void is immense.
RIP
We are all passing away. Will there be others to fill the spaces left behind? Surely there are those who are touched by what we have done. They will build edifices greater than we can imagine. God is in control. His Will be done ere at FR.
Sorry to hear. I didn’t know him as well as you did but he helped to make Free Republic the go to site for truth and honest opinions.
I literally gasped upon reading your headline and when the words sunk in my chest constricted. Then I saw your ping to 2DV’s handle and lost it. RIP to a legendary Freeper.
Sad news, RIP, prayers for him and his family.
Rest in peace brother.
I agree that 2ndDivisionVet deserves this honor. I always found his posts interesting without ever being offensive to anyone. He is leaving a real void that will be hard to fill.
On a personal view, his passing is so similar in kind and time to my brother as of 4 years ago on 12 November. After 43 years as a quad, he was very ready to leave his body prison. My faith allows me confidence in the ultimate joy that both he and 2ndDivisionVet and ALL must feel at that ultimate transition! Praise God!
Rest In Peace.
Thought about him when my area announced job losses. Company left the city. Well not everything is rosy.
Hate to hear. Ill miss his good news job related articles.
A good man.
I will miss him.
He is in a better place.
Rest In Peace FRiend
Rest in peace.
RIP. 2div was one of the good ones. Will be missed.
Very sad to hear this. His passing leaves a big spot to fill at FR and probably in every other facet of his life.
RIP 2DV His absence is noticed by many. Not many of us would be as missed as him.
