I need to replace my Win 7 Pro PC with something else for Internet and financial accounts access. Software like TurboTax for 2020 will not be authorized for Win 7 (and without any security patching after 1/14/20, wisely so). Still not convinced I want to go the Linux route.

“I wouldn’t migrate to that crap OS, at gunpoint.”

I bought an older PC with 10 installed for about $100, will only be using it for online transactions that need to be secure (with updates). Otherwise, when it comes to MS for un-secure doings, I’m sticking with Win 7. On the Linux side, Xubuntu is also a fine OS.

Why does windows 10 suck?

White men. This wouldn’t happen if you had diversity.

Golly what a progressive article.

I’m looking to buy a new all in one desktop and the Dell computers come with Windows 10 - is it that bad? I’m open to suggestion.

The real reason is

Indian H 1 Visa foreign cheap labor and the Indians
only hire other Indians.

They are foreigners and hate whitey .
They took there jobs and ignore whitey .

I heard it real bad there for the whites they haven't pushed out yet .

Thanks greedy Bill Gates for new Indian invasion .

I’ve been in IT for 30 years. Beta tester for Windows 95, 98 and XP. Currently Director of IT for a small SE corporation.

People who complain about Windows 10 are amateurs and do not know what they are talking about.

They keep using the term “made-men” but keep the meaning of the term murky—something about males and Bill Gates. How does one determine if an given employee is one of these incompetent “made-men”? Do we assume they are if they are male or if they have been in the company a while? Can women be “made-men” as well?

Windows 10 is great. All the Windows 7 and Windows XP holdovers can feel smart, and the Linux people can go have fun too, but the reality is that Windows 10 (and Windows Server 2019) are far and away the best OS’s out there, especially for business use.

My daughter gave me her old laptop with Linux installed. And I’ve gotta say, I’m liking it more and more.

Bullcrap. I am a very happy Windows 10 user (8 installed Pcs with zero problems), and very happy MSFT shareholder (all-time highs).

Microsoft seems to have a tie-in with some of our auto manufacturers in that each years “new & improved” is worse or way worse than what they had before.

the CEO needs to do more to stop the appointment of males ...

Never, never trust anyone who refers to men as "males". Never.

I am STILL trying to get a workable version of Win10 on my tablet.

Luckily, I made some Macrium Reflect images at various states of ‘good’ versions. Version 1803 worked pretty good and the latest updates made it fast loading and using.

Then 1903 came along. It has been a nightmare. I did manage to get a couple of images when it seemed to be working. Then, the next update caused crashes and reboots. Even the 1903 images would not work.

I finally returned to 1803. Which worked. Now, currently, 12:50 pm CT, the tablet is trying again to get a workable version of 1903 installed.

I just hope my Win7 laptop and desktop last a long time. I turned off auto updates on them several years ago. I still get ‘critical updates’ and occasionally have to do a System Restore.

I do have a Linux Mint 18-03 laptop. It has its own set of problems and peculiarities.

I haven’t had a big problem recently.

Windows 10 is still awful when it comes to updates slowing my machine to a crawl and overheating it.

Someone needs to teach the Indian programmers about buffering typed characters.
