...a method to connect the Earth and the moon with a cable

Scientists have proposed a method to connect the Earth and the moon with a cable that will allow us to travel between them, but the European Space Agency isn't convinced

Two astronomers from the University of Cambridge and the University of Columbia have proposed a plan for a kind of elevator between the moon and the Earth.

Have you ever thought about what it would be like if we could just hop in an elevator, press a button, and head up to the moon?

According to the scientists' calculations, it would be possible to construct such a structure using existing technologies. The concept is "eminently plausible and may have been overlooked as a major step in the development of our capacity as a species to move within our solar system," they said.

Going up... and up and up and up... Hello Otis, the elevator is stuck between Earth and Moon... could you send a repairman?

And you would still have to wait around all day for Comcast to come and connect it.

Right...........and you have cables hanging down just waiting for a lightning strike anywhere along it’s length. What could go wrong?

Just keep it plugged into your garage right?

Good plan cause of all the air tanks needed to run an internal combustion engine on the moon.

Might want to check with Musk, he may have them as an option for the Tesla?

No joke. Global warming/climate-change is real because “leading scientists say....” The liberals that claim to be “into science” couldn’t pass an 8th grade science test.

Whoever wrote this garbage article put zero thought into any of this and can’t conceptualize that this magic elevator that they’ve developed a fetish for is about 1000 times more difficult and expensive to build than an on-going Apollo program. The moon’s distance from Earth varies between 225,000 miles and 252,000 miles so how do they expect to compensate for that constantly-changing distance? This whole thing is pure stupidity.

On earth, liberals have a fetish for railroad projects that cost $100 million per mile. Their moronic space elevator is just a super-size version of that.

I used to love Space 1999 when I was 8 years old. Now once in a blue moon I catch an episode and I’m like, “What am I watching here?” It’s just bizarre. I go through the same thing whenever I see an original Star Trek episode. I loved it as a kid, it’s totally unwatchable now.

Let’s turn the moon into a yoyo. Wind it up and just hop over. No rockets needed. :)

What could go wrong?
