New juiced balls. Wrapped Tighter than previously and the stitching is tighter making it harder for pitchers to grip.

Every time a new stadium is built (a frequent occurance) the outfield walls move towards home plate about 10 feet.

Not a problem. More interesting. Whatever it is that’s causing it. Yes I can enjoy the occasional pitchers duel. But nothing like dingers to wake you up and cheer or groan.

Earl Weaver baseball philosophy has taken over. No need for any Whitey Herzogs. Never heard of “launch angel” until everyone started to swing for the fences on every pitch.

This plethora of home runs is only part of the problem with MLB.

The bigger problem, as I see it, is that teams don't even focus on getting runners on base at all.

Some guy on the Yankees was named their player of the week last week after hitting 5 home runs. He had only 7 RBIs for the week -- which meant: (1) they were almost all solo home runs, and/or (2) he never drove in any runs in any at-bats other than his home runs.

That's not baseball. That's batting practice.

Earl Weaver baseball philosophy has taken over.

Not anymore. See Post #17.

The modern approach to baseball -- at least in the American League -- involves putting a cleanup hitter in every spot in the order. There are no 3-run home runs anymore because nobody gets on base ahead of a home run hitter.

I have not watched professional or other sports since 1998. The exception being 2010/2011 when the Texas Rangers made the World Series. So my interest is peripheral at best. LOL
